Yes BUT...you are limited to 3 sweetners a day. Also artificial sweetners have been known to stall some people....not me...I am lucky that way. But I do want you to be aware of that.
You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~
Stay away from the soda, I would recommend as well as many more "experts" on this here forum. No need for it stick to the water initially. Then again if you feel the need, you gonna do it anyhow. God Bless, Joe
splenda makes me stall. The only splenda I have...ever...is i put a sprinkle (about 1/5 a packet) on my flaxseed. But...as of late I don't mind the taste without it.

Yikes....I quit drinking soda in January when I quit smoking as a part of my resolution for a healthier lifestyle....but I started craving cigarettes after a few months and I substituted for diet soda and got hooked on the soda again. I have a serious sweet tooth and I thought that I could satisfy it with diet cola.....The good news is, I have only had water so far and I think it's going to stay that way...at least for a while!
Thanks everyone.
Oh! And if someone does know or find out how many splenda carbs are in one can or cup, I would still love to know!
You know what, come to think of it, I tried sommersizing (works on glycemic index) a while back and drank Diet Rites's liberally daily...and I was not losing, whereas my cousin was not drinking cola at all, simply water but eating more (quality) of foods than I was and she was dropping pounds like mad. I found that weird because we have always had similar body composition and the same weight loss tactics work....I know everyone's body is different....that's not the point...maybe it was the cola all allong...hmmmmm.
I will tell you what. I was a huge diet dr pepper drinker, a 2 liter bottle a day and I went off of it cold turkey and no substitutes either. I hated water but I am now happily drinking over a gallon of it a day and have noticed with nothing sweet in my diet at all, I do not crave anything sweet. Fruit does smell good to me, but I can walk by it and it does not faze me and I am not craving it.
I decided I wanted to lose the weight and get healthy so I would do whatever it would take and when it was pointed out to me that not only should I give up the caffiene but the sweetners I did the very next day and have not regretted it. 12 days today off of them and I am losing a pound a day, at least so far. I have lost 18 pounds in 13 days, well, 12 because I weighed in this morning which was day 13. I have never done this well on induction before but I never gave it all up, encluding dairy because for ME it is a trigger, and I am dropping faster than ever. So, my advice is ditch the soda and sweetners if you want to get to goal quickly.
YOu can use stevia and it is good stuff, but I urge you to try no sweetners to lose the sweet tooth. It sure worked for me, and believe me, if I can give up diet soda after an almost twenty year habit, anyone can !!! I honestly have not missed it since about day five or so.

We have a tendency to overestimate what others can do and underestimate ourselves !! author unknown Not anymore !!!
thanks Stefie and Desert for your advice, I am cutting back on the splenda right now, just a half packet in my decaf this morning, I can cut the sweet craving, I have done it before!! I cut the caffeine a few days ago becasue of advice on this baord, and I will listen to this one as well. It really pays to listen to other's trial and error. Thanks!!

When you say dairy, are you still eating cheese or do you mean just the creams, milk, etc? And congrats on such a great start! I can only hope I can have such success!!! I made a vow not to drink any of it or use splenda at least until I am quite close or at my goal weight. I can totally do it
I am so thankful I ran across this post. I just discovered diet rite today. The tangerine is especially tasty. However, I think the splenda is giving me a headache. Looking back, I think I've gotten a headache every time I've tried the splenda stuff. Anyway, I think I will leave it for DH to drink. Especially now that I've learned about the hidden carb in there!
THANK YOU
