  • A little confused...

    Hey Everyone,

    This is my second time on Atkins, I had great results with it the first time, but after allowing myself to forget about the lifestyle that I agreed to live... I turned back to carbs, and lots of them.

    The first time I did Atkins, I ate strictly meat, cheese & eggs. This may be why I was always left unsatisfied at the end of the day. This time I am doing it right with the vegetables and all... and so far have had pretty good results (though there is a long way to go).

    So anyway, I am pretty confused about the whole keytone thing. What is it? How does it work? How will it affect my results? I have purchased the test strips, now what do I do? *lol*

    Any advise would surely help. Thanks

    Well...I hear you have to pee on them..LOL!

    That being said...they are supposed to indicate whether you are in ketosis or not. But I wouldn't put a lot of store in them as things like the amount of water you are drinking and sometimes what you have been eating can affect them. I don't use them and still manage to lose weight...just follow the plan!

      I dont use the strips and never checked when I was in ketosis, I simply go by the way me clothes are fitting and then occasionally step onto me enemy,(the SCALE), when I feel the urge to do so. Hang in there. God Bless, Joe

          Hello,
          First, I have to ask, do you have your DANDR 2002? Turn to page 137 in your book. It explains very clearly about Lypolysis (ketosis), and how the strips work.
          I'm really happy you are back to doing Atkins. Keep your book close and refer to it often. It will guide you throughout your healthy journey.
