This week wasn't so good for some reason, on the second week I have never lost UNDER 10 pounds, this time I lost 4. I wonder if it has anything with me not going to the bathroom? I have only went poo 1 time in over a week, and it wasn't even normal sized. I took a few exlax last night and it really didn't do anything. 4 pounds is still good tho just thought I would have had a bit more! I am eating all my veggies and meat with 2-3 ounces of cheese daily if that, so who knows, hopfully I do good this week!

Boy oh boy are you hard to please! 18 pounds over two weeks is awesome! So you lost 14 pounds the first week and your body took a bit of a break (and I would hardly call it that) and you lost 4 the next week. That is a good amount!!! Sometimes the scale doesn't move but the inches do.
What kind of veggies are you eating?? If it is just lettuce that isn't going to cut it. You need more fiber than that. You can try adding some flaxmeal. But you have to be careful and add that in slowly. 2 T a day max. Sprinkle some on your salad. There are some recipes in the recipe section and I have a cereal one on the induction recipes in this forum. You may have to cut back on the cheese for a bit as it is a binder.

Yeah I know I should be really happy with 18 pounds, and infact I am, I was just hoping for more seeing my past experiences. The veggies I eat everyday are 1 cup lettuce, 1 cup mushroom, and 1 cup broccoli. I have never had this problem before, it just seems a bit weird to me tho. My cousin was saying something about benefiber? I think thats what it was called. Does that work too? Or are there any kind of fiber pills that might be recommended? Also once in a while I will sub broccoli for a cup of unsalted green beans.Restarted Atkins 03/22/2010

Hello Monroe,
Congratulations on the pounds gone forever! That's fantastic.
Not only do I eat 1 fiber capsul a day, I also take Pro-Biotics to help with digestion(it really works) and also I take Magnesium which will also aid you with digestion. Along with Flaxmeal everyday. Those three things along with lots and lots of water.
I also notice when I eat cabbage that that will help move things along aswell. Will you be moving onto OWL Rung 1? More veggies will help you in the fiber area and help you branch out on trying new veggies. Pumpkin is great fiber. Also Induction friendly.
Again, Congrats on your losses.

Ah...but see...the past is the past. Your body isn't the same now. You have tried Atkins several times...you are..um..well..older. And all kinds of other factors come into as well. Dr A recommends "If you are constipated, mix a tablespoon or more of psyllium husks in a cup or more of water and drink it daily. Or mix ground flaxseed into a shake or sprinkle wheatbran on a salad or vegetables."
Your veggies look fine...I do recommend any other lettuce other than iceberg. It has no nutritional value at all. So a darker leaf lettuce is better. I don't know what other thinks are in benefiber so can't help you there. Make sure you drink your water if you take anything else to help get you moving.Elsie150
