  • Question about Veggie Measures

Ok, so I understand that during induction we are supposed to consume 20 carbs per day which 12-15 carbs come from veggies. How am I supposed to reach that amount of carbs if I am only 2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of "other" veggies?

Also, I see we are allowed cream cheese. Is it whipped cream cheese, or the brick of cream cheese?

    Thanks everyone!

    Re: Question about Veggie Measures

It is actually "up to" 20 grams of net carbs. And yes salad won't give you much if you are only doing greens, but you can use a variety of the salad vegetables as outlined in the book. Also pumpkin, spinach, brocolli, cauliflower, etc.

It doesn't matter if it is whipped or brick as long as it is only cream cheese and not sweetened or with additives.

    Best wishes!

      Re: Question about Veggie Measures

I am in my 4th induction week now and I can honestly say that it is nearly impossible to get that many carbs from your veggies while on induction. As you move up the rungs, it would be easier to do that. I usually average about 12-15 carbs a day in total. The times I have had a higher carb count was because I ate too much cheese or cream etc. *oops* :P

losetocruise is right about getting different veggies in there though. I really try to get at least some of my veggies from the other list because those typically have higher carb counts. 3 cups of lettuce definitely wont cut it and wont give you the wide range of vitamins and nutrients that you really need. Hope that helps and good luck!
