  • Need to vent.. and get some insight

Hi guys. I just recently re-re-re-re-re-started after an 8 month excursion back into the high-carb jungle! This has been the hardest time around for me YET.

My pee sticks are still turning a very light shade of pink (from dark purple for about a week and a half).. my weight's not moving, im gaining inches, and I don’t know what to do cause I FEEL a little slimmer. I would have stopped for a donut this morning, but I kind of talked myself out of it because my ketostix are still turning at least a slight shade of pink. Im getting real discouraged, but I know I need to hang in there. I just don’t know how long I can hang in there.

The last couple of days (ok the week) have been rough. The only things I’ve eaten off of the induction menu are low carb bars (which say they have like 30 grams of carb, but only 3 net because you subtract fiber and sugar alcohols?!?! Doesn’t make sense to me…), and a little bit of peanut butter. Oh.. and I fought off my sweet tooth once with some blackberries and an apricot.

This time I can’t kick the cravings. I'm even craving things I dont even like (cake ) Not even picturing myself naked eating in front of a mirror is doing it, and believe me THAT should work LoL!!!

Any suggestions? I work for a State office and if they bring in donuts again this morning, I might not have the strength to say NO!!!

I suggest finding the last 6 oz. of willpower (possibly hiding in your big toe), and force yourself to pass on the bars, peanut butter and fruit for one week. I've found for me that if it tastes sweet, it induces cravings for me, and all three of the items you mentioned are definite trigger foods for me. Who knows? We may be similar in that regard and we haven't even officially met!

By the way, I've seen it mentioned here many times that high protein snacks can help curb the sweet tooth so start packing some hard boiled eggs or sugar-free jerky to nibble on if you know a temptation is on the horizon...

GET RID OF THE BARS!!!! trust me, this is what is causing all the problems....just start induction over again and make it clean!!! you will be so happy with the way you feel...eg. energy, no cravings, and slimmer

      you won't believe it!

Not only the bars, but ditch the peanut butter and the fruit. It's not fair to "be frustrated" with the plan not working, IF YOU AREN"T DOING THE PLAN!

The reason you can't get over the cravings is that you are still "USING" your drug (sugar) in the form of peanuts, bars, fruit, and whatever. That's like being a alcoholic and saying you are quitting, but still taking a swig here and there and then can't figure out why you keep having cravings! It's like being a sex addict trying to stay clean, but sneaking peaks at porn videos throughout the day!

Give up the junk and you'll feel much better and be able to stick to the plan.

I only picked up the bars in the last couple of days after a clean 10 days of induction and the cravings weren't kicked.. I THOUGHT if i fed the cravings, they would go away Yeah, I know...

I remember reading that high-protein helped curb cravings, or at least curbed hunger, I guess I just "forgot" when I saw the JIF LOL

I will definitely try that.. I am ashamed because this is NOT my 1st or even 10th time around and I should know better

Maybe add a "movie" in there so I can switch my addictions LOL Jk...

Thanks for the insight guys! AND btw, I avoided the donuts thus far!! Stuck to my bacon and coffee with 2 splendas and heavy whipping cream, which I will be giving up for at least a week.

yes, everything.... i would suggest just going over the induction list and rules one more time, just to really get started over again

and good for you for not eating those donuts!!!! today is my 2nd daughter's b-day and i'm SO happy i'm not even craving a lick of that cake....ice cream cake from dairy queen that is...mmmm... but nope, don't care....let the kids have it i love this WOE because i would NEVER EVER have passed on cake before!!!

I agree with everything. For sure get rid of the bars they make me crave sugar and try getting some of the L-glutamine. That might help too I feel they work to help the craving.

                Hang in there.
