  • Taking Fiber Supplements during Induction

I'm kinda confused because in the book it says to supplement with Psyllium husks, wheat bran or flaxseed daily but then elsewhere I'm under the impression that those should only be consumed a certain number of minimal times during induction.
I'm wondering if someone can clear this up for me.
Should I be taking a fiber supplement during induction....or not?
When should I take one? (if I'm constipated?...because so far so good on the regularity)
And, can I just take like a Psyllium Husk capsule like Metamucil capsules?
    Thanks guys....

These are all so high in fiber that they almost cancel out their carbs so yes they are safe in Induction. Just subtract the fiber grams from the carb grams. I would not wait until you are already constipated, but start taking one capsule a day (yes the Metamucil capsules are fine to use. I use them daily). As your veggies go up, your need for fiber should go down.

      Thanks China,
      (so helpful)
I already had them (hehe) I just was afraid to take them if I wasn't supposed to!

Re: Taking Fiber Supplements during Induction

If you don't need the extra fiber, it's usually best to leave it out. There is such a thing as too much. As long as you're regular you should be fine.

Taking in too much fiber is like pouring cement into your intestinal tract and will constipate you severely. Had this problem not long ago and my doctor made me stop taking my supplement and things started moving again, so to speak

If you really want to take them you must ensure that you up your water intake by a minimum of 20oz per serving of the supplement so you won't experience what I went through.

        All the best!
