  • End of Day 14!!!!

I am so proud of myself. I can't believe I finished this induction clean as a whistle (well a whistle that's never been used, who came up with that saying? lol) I have no idea how much I've lost since last week. I'm so excited tomorrow is weigh day for me. I'm expecting the worst (no loss) and hoping for the best (more than I expected). Either way, I'm feeling so successful. I had this one pair of swim shorts that I bought a few weeks ago that I thought would fit me (I so had no idea how big I really was) and when I tried them on I couldn't even get the snaps to get within several inches of one another. Today I tried them on and they fit, they closed, all the way with room in the waist! To me that speaks volumes, so I am not all about the scale, just curious. I plan on staying on extended induction for a little longer because a) not bored at all by the food b) because it's simple and easy to understand and c) I'm still trying to find out ways to eat all I'm supposed to now. I know it's been 2 weeks, but I still consider myself a newbie, and I just wanna figure out how my body is before I take the next step. I haven't even started working out yet (aside from swimming a couple days a week and household chores) so after I get into the groove of things I'll move on to OWL.
    I'm soooooooo happy!
    Sorry to ramble......
OH and thank you to everyone here for all the support. I think that being here has played a huge roll in my success thus far.

You are off to a great start it seems
Well done on those inches and on your attitude towards the scales too!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Way to go Jane! That's awesome. I'm with you on the OWL. I think i am going to have out in induction right away. Like you other than chasing my kids and doing housework adn gardening I have no formal exercise routine1 I'm not bored with the food either...that or the thought of more veggies isn't enticing yet Maybe I have more detoxing to do.

Look foward to hearing from you tomorrow and what the scale says. It sounds like you ahve already been rewarded.

Awe, thank you so much Elsie, Coribazz, Elizellen, Joee5 and Erika!!!
I appreciate your support so much (almost in tears).
I weighed in today and so far have lost 10.4 pounds and 6.5".
Can I just say, I really thought I was one of those people who couldn't lose weight. Even going into this, I thought I was going to be high resistance. After reading the book and doing research and coming here and just doing things the right way, I now realize that my problem was in my terrible habitual ways. I was in denial but I can completely admit: I am a recovering carb addict. (ahhhh off my chest like inches )
The thing I appreciate the most so far is kicking that bad habit to the curb. I am enjoying my meals, the way I should be and more than anything that's my biggest success so far.

I like your diet ticker, and congrats on the weightloss so far...so here's my question, in your first post you said that you are expecting nothing, but hoping for more than you expect...so, did you lose more than you thought?

I see what you are saying about staying on induction. But just adding my thoughts. I started around your weight and I think I am glad I did not wait too long to start OWL. I really want the tools to eat healthy and right once I reach goal. With not a lot of pounds to lose (relatively speaking) it is good to still have some to lose as I move up the rungs. If I lost it all on 20 carbs and induction food it would be so much harder to find out how much cream, yogurt, berries, beans etc I can actually have.

But congratulations on your loss so far. I feel exactly the same about Atkins - I have never lost weight on any other diet I had tried before.

                          Re: End of Day 14!!!!

Carbless, I was expecting about a 2 lb loss and that wasn't underestimating but I lost 5 from the previous week so a little bit more. Thank You!

Liv- Thank you! I am really excited to move up actually.I totally realize what you're saying, and agree 100% So....hope you don't mind me asking for some advice when I do move up

I love to cook and bake and I can't wait to start working on those project-low-carb recipes I see everywhere. I actually was planning to move up as soon as I started a full work out regimen, which was supposed to be this week, at the end of induction. But, over the weekend my lemon of a car (06 Altima) broke down and it's 200 miles away from home and I'm stressing. I live in Las Vegas so it's 110 degrees out so I can't walk anywhere, and I can't really get to the gym or to a decent supermarket. So I think I have to stay on induction with the selection I have at home...while I'm car-less . I'm not bored and I'm still trying to figure out how to work out my schedule and get all my veggies in. I am afraid to start something new when my situation is kinda chaotic right now. I honestly believe I am someone who needs to move up so that this becomes permanent for me. I think that's where I failed before and I don't want this to be my umpteenth crash "diet". So hopefully when I get my car back and everything get's settled, I can climb the rungs with my colleagues

What a fantastic start!! Congrats on your losses so far . It is a great idea to move up the rungs right away too, especially because you don't have many pounds to lose! All the additional options really make this an easy WOE to follow long term.

                              Thanks Ammamady!

I rented a car today, I couldn't take it. I had cabin fever. Tomorrow I see my personal trainer at 1:00! I'm so excited and terrified at the same time. The stinkin' car dealership won't tell me how long it's gonna take for my car to get fixed, actually they're pretty much keeping me out of the loop. And this car rental thing is gonna get pricey if it's gonna take a few weeks. So I'm stressin about that too. I'm just in awe that I'm going through my first sweet free stressful moment. Normally I'd be stuffing my face!
