  • Net carbs in Shrimps???

Hi! i had shrimps yesterday and entered it in FITDAY.
To my suprise Fitday registered 19 carbs for 1 cup of gumbo shrimps!!!
I don't understand, i thought shrimps were a food that we could eat liberally. ( PS: i could not find shrimps in the carb counter section of the book).

    Your feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thanks and Happy 4th to all!

There is a bit of carb in shrimp but not alot. When Fitday counts gumbo shrimp the carbs comes from things like tomato, okra and rice which are normal things to put in a gumbo. Did you eat those?

        Re: Net carbs in Shrimps???

I think Liv has found the reason for the high carb count.

Fitday assumes you are making dishes like this or even something like omelettes in the 'usual' way so will add the 'usual' ingredients.

I enter each food seperately so fitday works out the carbs in what I have added rather than what the average US person might add.

For example - fitday assumes everyone adds milk when making an omelette but I only use eggs, so when I cook an omelette I add the raw eggs plus butter to cook it in plus any fillings like cheese or ham, so fitday gives me a more accurate total.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
