Whats the best way to get back on track after a carb binge?

I know I'll probably have the headaches etc again but is there anyway I can limit the damage by stepping off the induction train??

    SO annoyed with myself!

Drink plenty of water!! And as I've learned the VERY hard way - the best way to bounce back from a carb binge is to do it QUICKLY!! Your headaches may last 1-2 days instead of more if you wait longer.

I know exactly what you mean! I had a binge this weekend, and im restarting today. I have a pretty bad headache, but I think its in combination with our atmosphere up in Nor Cal right now

      Hello-
First, realize that establishing new habits is not easy, unless of course you follow the Induction and the rest of the program strictly. Everyone has their moments and I call it a carb hangover. no-lol.
Here is a plan: Drink water. Go for a walk and make a deal to stop kicking yourself by the time you get home. Chalk it up and get to work: Skim over your copy of the Atkins book looking for key guidelines. Read some success posts on ADBB. Envision yourself at your goal weight. Get back on your plan re: meals and exercise. If you are not exercising, join some of the challenges. Avoid cheat situations in the future - losing 100 lbs and being the new/old you is worth more. Monitor the ADBB for information, inspiration and to help others. Now get to it!

Thanks Glenn thats exactly what I needed!

I didn't let my binge spill over to dinner so it was just this afternoon & have planned tomorrows meals so that I know exactly what I'm having.

I shall take my book to bed with me to re-read why exactly its important to stay clean.

I completely forgot how cr*p carbs make you feel... headaches kicked in already!

How long and how far did you get before you failed?? You gotta want it bad enough and you will succeed. Say to yourself no more excuses and get out there and go for it. Stay focused and motivate yourself. Best way is to stay on track. Good luck. God Bless, Joe

            Hi Joe

I was on day 12 of induction nothing but lame excuses as to why I stepped off, scales hadn't moved, totm, just a low day... all the things I will have to deal with time & time again so I need to know how to stay focused.

New day & a fresh start... have kicked myself out of ketosis (pretty obvious that was gonna happen) but I like this way of eating it suits me & I've felt pretty rotten since eating the carbs!

Taught me a crucial lesson! Back to day one! x

I have a lot of weigh to lose as well so if I were to get off track here's what I would do to motivate meslf. Look in the mirror how you look now and look at a picture of where you want to be it. That's what I have and use as motivation. I have a pic on the fridge, on the medicine cabinet in all 3 bathrooms. If that doesnt motivate I dont know what else will. God Bless, Joe
