  • a light cold--Induction?

    Hi all,

I seem to be battling a light head cold. Nothing too serious. Started yesterday--today, I am sure.

I do take a multivitamin, extra B, and thyroid supplement.

I'm wondering if this could be my body adjusting to induction. Has anyone else had symptoms of light cold/lowish resistance?

    Thanks,
    Ruth

Induction Flu can take on many forms...and only the strong survive...LOL. I had a migraine for 4 days. Basically you feel like crap and then after you feel so much better and energized. If you think it is a cold have some chicken broth...you can even put some chicken in it or/and a whisked egg (egg drop soup) for some protein. Hang in there.

      Thanks Elsie!

I've been reading more about Induction Flu, and am thinking it's some kind of that (headaches, nasal drip, etc.). I have been making a veggie puree soup with egg--seems to help.

I've been an almost vegan for years (no dairy, only seafood in terms of meat), so I have been consuming LOTS of carbs (hence my serious withdrawal). But today, (and this is weird), I'm craving RED MEAT (chicken, for some reason, sounds gross). So I think I'm going to go to a local place for lunch that I KNOW serves locally raised, free range beef and have a burger (sans bun, but of course).

Thanks again, and I'll let you know how it goes,
      Ruth

hang in there Ruthie...either way it will pass. Do you have the 2002 edition of the book? If not read the stickies in the main forum and the induction forum. Lots of helpful info to get you going until you get the book.

Cori, on my buddy list, is also an almost vegan...she does dairy and fish. Do make sure...since you are not doing dairy that you do get enough fat into your diet.

Ideally you should be at about 5% carbs/65% fat/ 30% protein. Oh...and in the induction forum is my thread called never ending induction recipes. In there are some revolution rolls and oopsie rolls...wait a minute...they have eggs in them...never mind. Okay...keep in mind you can wrap stuff in a lettuce leaf.

          Re: a light cold--Induction?

          Thanks again,

Actually, I've reintroduced dairy already, in small amounts (started B.A. "before Atkins"). Am doing OK with it.

Also, I do eat eggs--always have.

I DO have the 2002 copy of the book--that's what started me on this journey.

But, I'm going soon for my late lunch, and I'm doing beef. I think it'll be just fine.

          Your new and appreciative pal,
          Ruth
