  • Day 1 for me...

    :wave Hi all,

I have started my day 1. I was going to do it yesterday but i was so scared of eating wrong, that I started skipping meals and my kitchen still had some "cheat material" in it and I needed, wanted to get rid of them. Because if I could find a way to cheat, I know I would. So now I am on my way, re-reading me DANDR book and trying hard to stay clean. I am off work today, so it will not be easy. Boredom is one of my overeating triggers, so I am looking for ways to keep busy in the house. I guess Spring cleaning could be the order of the day! Wish me luck and you may see me again in here if I need some one to stop me if I get a craving! :yikes

    Hi! :wave

Yay for you, you're doing everything right!

Re-Reading the book, getting yourself motivated are so..so..soooooo important, because you're giving yourself every possible advantage. I know you'll do wonderfully!

I work from home so keeping busy can sometimes be a challenge. You can always start a blog or journal, take courses online..many are free and lots of fun, read and of course spend hours on this board! I'm beyond addicted to it.

As for cleaning the house I definitely understand how boring that is...which is why I'm always happy to invite my fellow Akineers over to clean mine. But for some strange and unknown reason - no one seems particularly interested!

About those cravings, I found that decaf green tea helps stop them, I've been drinking it by the gallon without Splenda, hated it at first but now it's actually quite nice...you might want to give it a try.

Oh and JuJu thanks for the advice on my heavy balls...

I wrote you in the post under walk away the pounds...I think I'll get my hands on the tapes and a pair of weighted balls this afternoon today. I'll have to call Target and ask if they have a pair of weighted balls in stock and tready to go...not everyone has weighted balls you know. Hmmmmm...I wonder, where should I keep my balls? I suppose I can leave my balls on the coffee table or someplace like that so I'm reminded to pick my balls up once in a while and use them.

Your post gave me the biggest laugh I've had in days

    Peter

If you get bored find some induction safe recipe you have never tried before that sounds delicious and get busy in the kitchen. one thing I love about this WOE is that I'm not trying to stay away from food - i'm merely learning how to use food to my best advantage. Good luck and congratulations on your new resolve.

Peter I think, if we are thinking about the same thing, its called a "Medicine Ball" and they come in weight incriments. I dont know if they would carry them at target though. You may want to try a sporting goods store :yes

Today is my day 1 also, so we are in the same boat. I am so happy to have found this site, everyone is so helpful and well informed. I would like to lose around 25 pounds and I know with each other, the help of everyone else and God Almighty we can do it. God bless you and please have a safe and joyful remainder of the day.

Hi lowcarbing! Hooray for your first day!!!

If you are interested, down in the challenges portion of the board we have a book reading "club" of DANDR. Right now we're discussing Chapter 4, and that deals a lot with food cravings and would hit home for a new induction person (and even for us veterans).

I'm so glad you're here, and it's always wonderful to have another Texan aboard!
