New to forum, in UK, dropped in to say 'Hi; and have a questions or two
if no one minds.
Have PCOS, slow metabolism but managed it- sorta. Gained a lot of weight after major tummy surgery 4 years ago. Three months after the surgery, Hospital said I was ok and should start to exercise, so I did. Suffered internal bleeding and needed another op to remove clots. 6 months later, they again told me I could go back to tummy exercise etc- did so and ended up with them having to remove a blood clot 1 month later the size of a footballl....so I was as you can imagine, have been too scared to do anything at all (apart from minimal walking, stomach surgery is not funny) have gained 5 stone since
and most muscle on me has turned to flab. 
Anyway....about a week ago, decided enough was enough, got the courage to start atkins and have now also:
Walked 2x a day for 30 mins
1 hr a day on a bike
50 slow tummy crunches per day
My question is this, I weighed myself after 1st day on Atkins (yes I know) had lost 7lb's (carry a bit of water at times.) Then I started the excercise....and although I feel really good on Atkins and I am fine with the physical activity, weight is back up to where I started, regained the 7lbs.lol
(Nope- not cheated) Legs (muscle) have tightened up visibly etc but the weight thing is a tad dissapointing. Does anyone know why this would happen? Could it be the body is putting muscle back on, or is it normal to retain water at first?
Can anyone throw me a lifeline on this? And Hi to all again
