  • 50 lbs to lose!

    Hi,

This is my first time ever joining any sort of forum for anything. It feels weird but maybe it's what I need. I weigh 190...my heaviest EVER and Im trying to get down to 140. I lost alot of weight in Iraq. I got to 150, but when I came back home, I put that weight back on and more. Im so discouraged because it was such hard work. I hope to get back to what I used to be. Im tired of not being able to wear what I want because Im afraid Ill look fat. Im only 23, I want to enjoy my twenties and not spend it worried about my weight.

Forget about wasting your 20's, think about the rest of your life! it's great that you are doing this now. I often kick myself for my 20's 30's 40's etc. And when I was a kid my nickname was skinny ginny, so I do recall how the other half lives!

This forum is excellent, you will find a lot of good advice and support here. Unlike some other forums I have belonged to, there is no backbiting or flaming, just honest desire to help!

Are you still in the military? If so, you probably have access to great fitness centers, if not get into an exercise class of some kind, it will do wonders along with this diet!

Welcome!!! Thank You for serving our country!!!! You are a hero!!! I just started week 2 and while I can say that yes of course it is hard work, because it's a re-training of our bodies, it is easy at the same time. When you start to feel the differences in your energy levels etc it becomes so much easier to follow this way of eating for life! I know we can all do it!!! Welcome!!!!

It can seem overwhelming but if you just take one day at a time the weight just comes off. Almost a year ago I was in the same boat (no clothes I could wear, depressed) and one year later I am down almost 50 pounds and now wear a size 6 on top and size 10 bottom. I know I'll reach my goal in the next year and it is hard work but stick with it as the results are so amazing.
