  • a question about veggies...

In my last post, I put that i ate a salad with leafy greens and tomatoes and CUCUMBERS (spelled it right this time!) and um...oh yeah ranch dressing. i was over my 20 carb limit. I was reading some other ppls posts about going over the carb limit by doing the same thing, and most of the ppl that responded to that post said that was okay.

Is it? Did i do serious damage? Should I start over tomorrow or consider this still part of Induction? Still count it as a day, if that makes better sense.

Any info....lemme know. I'd appreciate the feedback!

Along this same line, I read somewhere, (I think on this board?), someone stated that ketosis kicks in at anything under 60 Carbs per day.

I personally thought that was a lot, but being one of the newer low-carbers, I'm not a walking-wealth of knowledge on this subject.

If Ketosis kicks in at anything less than 60 Carbs, then why do cheaters worry so much about falling out of Ketosis if they go a bit over 20 grams?

      Hi Berry! :wave

You did NOT do serious damage. But for induction definitely try to keep your carb intake at 20 grams. Reducing the tomatoes and maybe switching to an olive oil based salad dressing will help you - I try to steer clear of all pre packaged dressings and just make my own with Extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, a splash of vinegar or lemon juice, crushed garlic and herbs...it also makes a great marinade and seasoning for meats.

So just keep going the course, you'll do just fine

Ketosis is personal for each of us. Some people can go higher many of us are much less. My CCL is about 30 so if I cheat I stop loosing. That is why OWL is so important to find your CCL

Hi, beri! Did you account for net grams, or are you counting full grams before fiber in that "over 20" count?
