  • follow the bouncing ball...

    Hi, my weight is doing the yo-yo thing on induction. I started at 228, dropped to 223, bounced up to 226 (overnight) and now I am sliding back down at 225. Now, I keep telling myself there is no way I could have gained 3 lb of fat overnight...clearly I am retaining H20. I am watching my sodium intake...

    Any words of advice...even if they are just hang in there? I was so thrilled to watch my weight go down, it was a big bummer to start heading the other direction.

    Just think of the scales as being evil and increase your water intake.

    I have been doing Atkins for 1 year and 4 months and i still get p'd off with the fluctuating scales.

    It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!




    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Have you taken your measurements lately?

      Also, even Dr Atkins said to only weigh in once a week or less, because of weight fluctuations due to water retention. You might consider joining the "no Weigh" challenge down in the challenges section of ADBB. They are a fun group and are VERY supportive in NOT weighing more than once a month or so!

        You seem to have scalenumberphobia so put the scales up until day 15 and follow Dr Atkins rules for induction eating only enough food at the timeyou are eating to satisfy your hunger at the time you are eating and stop, drink all your water, do the mandatory exercise part of the program and you will be a loser cone day 15 if you are like 95% of the folk who do Atkins properly.

          You are doing so well,
          sometimes when i am not losing or even gaining a bit i usually will have a 2 lb loss or so, so just hang in there and stay positive, as we all know that you can and will do it!
