  • I cant stand this feeling anymore!

    Hi Guys,

I am in day six of induction; Today my head is spinning and I have really bad cramps in my stomach, I am getting lightheaded after I eat and am sweating profusely.

I am drinking plenty of water but am totally constipated and have no energy.

I had a little slip on saturday night and ate some popcorn but have been right back on track since then.

How long will this feeling last because i dont think i can handle it anymore!

My stomach is bloated and sore probably due to the constipation.

    Please help is this normal?
There is a skinny girl inside me screaming to get out but the carbs wouldnt let her....I want to know what it feels like not to have to breathe in to look slimmer all the time...I want to breathe out and not look 6mths pregnant..

      Good Morning, Aquaceri,
Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. I had a really tough induction too. I didn't feel "right" until the very end of my second week. During that time, I did a lot of laying around the house feeling pretty pitiful. One thing that helped me was eliminating my daily vitamin with iron, and taking one without. Also, I started adding in ground flax meal to help with the constipation. And, believe it or not, when I began exercising (even though it was the LAST thing I wanted to do with no energy) the endorphins kicked in and I started feeling better.

I hope things get better for you, and that you have success on this WOE. Hang in there, Michelle

Hi, I am on day 7 of induction and felt really bad for the first few days. I am still sparring with low energy and some aches. But, I haven't had a problem with constipation yet. My bloatedness left after a couple of days on induction.

I have started to double my supplements for the aches and hope that it will help with the energy level. Just take it easy for a bit and see how that goes for you.

Re: I cant stand this feeling anymore!

          Hi Guys

thanks for the responses...I am probably not eating enough veggies i must admit... I had a salad for lunch and feel a little better but not alot.

I have been doing aerobics for about 45mins a day when i get home from work...

I am on a tight budget at the moment and finding this diet quiet expensive so I am kind of sticking to the same straight forward induction foods which is getting very boring.

I havent taken a vitimin yet but will buy some today as this has probably caused alot of my fatigue.

I know I have nobody to blame but myself for not eating enough veg or taking the vits!?!

I have flax at home so I might make a muffin in a minute when i get home; i know its not strictly an induction food but it will help with the constipation.

If i get through today without giving up i can get through anything because this has been the most difficult one yet!

I dont know what id do without these boards for support and encouragement.

I want this stone to come off more than anything so hopefully i will plough on....think i expected magic and that by this week i would be half way there....so naieve! lol

Re: I cant stand this feeling anymore!

The one minute muffin will help. I honestly have one like once a week, otherwise I dont think I would ever be able to go to the restroom! It does help me at least.
I know how it is with this WOL and a tight budget, we just lost 1200.00 a month in income, so ours is super tight. One thing I do to help is besides watching for sales, I do my shopping in the mid morning...this way you can get good meat that the store has marked down because it is getting close to its "shelf life". I freeze all my meat till its time to use, so not a problem. Just prepare it (such as cutting and making patties and so forth) before freezing. This has saved us a ton! Watch for veggies to go on sale too and make use of them. I love peppers and they always go on sale. Things like these you can chop up, put in a freezer bag and freeze, so they last longer and are good for cooking with. I save some in the fridge when I want them raw and not cooked though Hope maybe that will help a bit, as I know the pain of grocery shopping!

Re: I cant stand this feeling anymore!

I dont have the link for it anymore I deleted it while cleaning out my favorites since I now know how to make it by heart. You can do a search for it on the net and it will come up, that is how I found it. I think there is a thread about it somewhere on these forums too...or maybe someone else can post the link! lolo

Basically it is a flax seed muffin, very quick and easy to make. It does go over the daily allowance of flax for induction, but like I said..I use it to help with constipation and it hasnt effected me. I know there are several others that have used this on induction as well.

I saw this on recipezaar. Is this the actual recipe for it?

Thats a little different than the one I use. Insead of stevia I use splenda and instead of oil its melted butter Same thing though I would suppose. I see that one references using berries, just remember we cant have those on induction.

I changed the OMM recipe a little to 2 Tablespoons ground flax meal, smidgen of Sweet Leaf stevia, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 1 egg, 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Whisk together and microwave 1 minute. Pour melted butter over the top and eat up. It doesn't really need any oil. BTW I make mine in a throw away microwave bowl.

Re: I cant stand this feeling anymore!

                        Good morning!

I started last Saturday and for three nights I sweated in bed at an unbelievable rate. I would wake up soaking wet (I never sweat and certainly NOT like that ever) and it shocked and concerned me but I stuck with it. I also didn't start feeling good on Sunday even though my energy level had noticeably increased. What I did then was decided to start taking my vitamins. I'm personally taking B12, Kelp, Calcium and vitamin C and I noticed a difference right away (Kelp is incredible but has a high iron level -natural form, for me that is ok because I'm anemic and need iron but if someone else would like to take it, it's probably something they should speak to their doctor about).

Regarding constipation, I too suffered from that as well. I went out and purchased some Phsyllium and started taking that daily in the morning. Just remember if you do that, mix it well in water and be sure you chase it with at least another glass of water. It's really important to get all the Phsyllium down with water. The first night after taking it I thought I was going to be even more constipated because I felt even more “bloated and blocked” through the night, however, after eating breakfast everything finally moved and it's worked daily since.

I agree with what everyone else has suggested, add more veggies....I wasn't doing that at the beginning either so I think that contributed to the constipation and not feeling well too....I probably still could add more veggies than what I'm already consuming.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well, it's not easy when one is experiencing discomfort and feeling under the weather. Keep in touch on the forum and keep posting here. The support is amazing and when we're going through difficult times, it really is uplifting.

                        Take care!
