I am a bit confused. I have been having brown n serve sausages with eggs in the morning and a hot dog for lunch. I am thinking maybe I should not be eating these types of meat yet. I am on day 6 and have lost 3 lbs tho I went up 1/2 this morning. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You !

Re: sausage & hot dogs on induction
REad the ingredients. Many sausages and hot dogs have carb counts from 1 carb to as high as 7 carbs. That is because they often include sugars or other carbs ("dextrose", corn starch, modified corn starch, dextrose solids, etc.")
Also many of these processed foods contain quite a bit of sodium. Sodium can cause water retention.~Megs~

Re: sausage & hot dogs on induction
I believe that someone told me to use Canadian Bacon instead of sausage or Bacon, but I must admit that I love the Maple flavored bacon(no carbs) sometimes. As far as hot dogs go when I do have them I use the Nathan's as they have one of the lowest carb counts that I have found.

Re: sausage & hot dogs on induction
The Brown and Serve sausages have added sugars...so avoid those. I know this becasue when I started we had tons of them in the freezer as they were convenient and when I checked the label 3 days in I was like "OMG, I cant eat these!" lol Honestly, I havent yet found a link sausage without added sugar. Hot dogs, you need to check your label. Im not a big hot dog eater, so I havent even checked them .~Clara~

Re: sausage & hot dogs on induction
Thanks for all the help. Part of my problem is that I don't allow any extra time in the mornings on my way out the door it is whatever I can grab out of the fridge and I refuse to buy fast food. I know all of this has been covered in other threads but any suggestions on induction friendly breakfasts and lunches to "pack" from home to work.

Havnfun, boil some eggs in the evening and place them in the frig for mornings. (Mark them with an "X" so you don't confuse them with any fresh eggs!) You can also microwave or roast a few chicken breasts seasoned to taste. When cool, slice them up and bag them in individual portions. Maybe some cream cheese celery sticks or cheese cubes in individual serving packages. Then on the way out the door grab an egg or chicken or whatever. You can stay on induction and stay satisfied when in a hurry. My $.02!

Re: sausage & hot dogs on induction
I had a friend who would cook bacon ahead of time and place slices in individual baggies with her hard-boiled eggs.
DH and I usually bring lunch to work. It's usually leftovers. What I did on Sunday was make some crockpot turkey chili. Then I made some Italian sausage with homemade sauce and onions. I put them in big containers to have on hand for lunch and dinner the next couple of days. I could have also froze them in individual servings and microwave them when ready to eat them. I was lazy.
I've also done a salad "kit." I sliced up some grilled chicken from the night before and put it in sandwich bag. I put some grape tomatoes in another bag. I did the same with some cucumber slices. I had some cut romaine in some tupperware. So I just threw the baggies on top of those along with a tiny container for dressing. At lunch time, I put it all together.
For snack, DH has been cutting up cubes of cheddar and ricotta salata with pepperoni. Today, I brought an "Oopsie" roll with me and made a little sandwich.32/F/5'8"/NYC

You can also make breakfast muffins -- there are some recipes around, but it's easy to throw together... eggs, cheese, chopped veggies, bacon or sausage, a little heavy cream. Beat well, and then put in muffin tins and bake until browned. Put one or two in individual baggies, so they are ready to zap in the microwave and eat on the go...
Another easy on-the-go breakfast/snack is lunch meat (Boars Head brand is good and low in additives) rollups with cream cheese.

Re: sausage & hot dogs on induction
My favourite standby grab'n'go is quiche. I usually make one each week which I slice into 6 pieces but sometimes I make miniquiches in muffin tins to have some snack-size ones handy.
My easy recipe is 3+3+3 which is 3 eggs, 3 ounces of cream & 3 ounces of grated cheese plus whatever cooked leftover meat and/or veg is in the fridge.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
