    hello everybody!

    Well i have been on atkins now for 17days and i have been very strict on myself as im seriously overweight and need to lose this weight.
    The only thing im worried about is putting it all back on when i start to eat normal food again.

    just wondered if you lot out there who know so much about atkins could possibly explain to me what food you can eat on each of the stages.
    this would be a great help

    Im not ready to move onto the second stage yet as i feel i need to lose more by being so strict on myself like induction has taught me to do.

    i drink atleast 2 litres of water a day and only have my 20g of carbs aday.. sometimes i dont even eat 20g.

    Anyways my question is can ya all possbibly explain the stages to me and what sort of food is acceptable for each stage and when do i need to move on?
    and oh one last thing .. my breathe smells really bad in the mornings even thought i brush my teeth before bed. is this part of ketosis?

    Hi. I'm going to suggest that you read the stickie above called "DAY 15: Should I stay or Should I go (to OWL)). I also suggest that you re-read Chapters 12-15 of DANDR 2002 and visit the OWL Forum.

      Well I just want to say, that this diet even though you lose weight very quickly... it is not a quick fix. This is a way of life, if you lose the weight you want and than when your done and go back to eating normal foods again, you will put the weight back on. You have to change your eating lifestyle on this diet, and keep it controlled or you will gain the weight back. Yes ketosis will make you smell.. and read the book, it has everything you need to know in it.

        Just wanted to say hi nad that you are doing great- however YOU are not seriously overweight-as you saidbut- you will be at your goal weight in no time though

          oh yea you only weigh 173. How tall are you? i weigh 182 last time i looked and I am only 5ft 4in.

            im only 5'2 .... thats why im overweight cuz im quite heavy and im a midget! lol
