  • Help I'm still hungry

Hi Im new to all this atkins diet and have been struggling a little with the induction phase. I think I worry to much of cheating every time I eat.. My 1st quesion is, i love eggs, how many can I have a day, can i eat them as bfast, snacks and dinner?? and what about bacon as bf or a snack? I have 3 kids and work and its hard for me to cook a lot, so it would be ideal to just hard boil some eggs and cook some bacon and eat it as bf and snacks..I'm just so worried of making a mistake somewhere to where I only want to eat single items that i know for sure cant hurt the induction phase.. this is real hard considering I love to make indian curries.. advice plsss

Well eggs are good for you however I wouldn't have more than 6 -7 a day only because of the fat content....don't get me wrong it is a good fat but its still pretty up there after you have eaten 7 eggs in a day but feel free.

Hard boil them, scramble them, fry them...whatever works for you have them for breakfast or a snack...

Now bacon is a different story, only my personal opinion...its good to have but definitely in moderation if you want to have regular bacon for break fast and maybe turkey bacon as a snack that would be ok but just remember portion control...

I hope this helps...no worries everything will be ok

Eat the bacon and eggs as much as you want AS LONG AS YOU COUNT ANY CARBS...

For eggs I count .5 per egg just to be safe
For bacon check the ingredients (twice!) lots of bacon/sausage other bf meats have added sugar or solids (bread soy etc) and lots of turkey bacon has other things added to make it taste more like pork bacon

If you are ever hungry.... EAT! The goal is to eat whenever you are hungry, sticking to the foods allowed on the Induction & induction rules and to eat until you are satisfied.

If you eat only 2 cups from the salad veggies, you can eat 1 cup from the "other" veggies and some of these contain more fiber which can definitely help you to feel full faster/longer.

      Good Luck!!!!

Actually, eggs have basically the perfect percentages of carb/fat/protein for someone who's on induction. Plus they're only 70 calories a piece... which means you could eat like, well, over 20 of them in one day and still be in okay shape. Ick.

          Re: Help I'm still hungry

Id like to say thanks to those who replied yesterday. I ended up just drinking a bottle of water. and I tried not to think about being hungry. then I went to bed. so it worked out ok.
I will limit my bacon intake even though I buy the one with no sugar added. I think I just need to learn to eat more veggies. im just not a big salad and veggie person..

I dont know how to put my ticker on my profile and my start weight and so on, like so many of u have.. can anyone help??

Eggs have about 0.8-0.9 net carbs. So count them as 1 net carb apiece.

The majority of your daily carbs should come from vegetables, according to Dr. Atkins. Therefore if you are eating 20 net carbs daily, at least 11 of those carbs should be from vegetables---not egg, not bacon, not cheese, not heavy cream.

There are 20 vegetables on the "salad" list. Lettuce is only 1 of those 20. Therefore, there is no excuse for eating only lettuce salads. Mushrooms, cucumbers, peppers, celery, bok choy, jicama, are among the vegetables on the "salad" list.
