    Why do I have to go to the bathroom every three hours?

    Since I have been on the Atkins Diet I am going to the bathroom about every three hours. I did not know I had so much fluid in me. I am not drinking any more fluids than usual.

    Your body ridding itself of the toxins. You should be drinking minimum 8 cups of water to help wash them out.

        I would be happy with 3 hour intervals! I am going like every 1 1/2 hours, but I am drinking plenty of water.

        Atkins does have a diuretic effect.

            Releasing fluid also flushes out some of the fat your body is getting rid of. I say the more the better. God Bless,Joe

              I go every 30 minutes. I'm lucky that I have a job that allows that

                Eating mainly protein act as a diuretic on the body,on the opposite side eating simple carbs and sugar will make the cells plump up and hold water.

                  "Every 30 minutes" ... yep, that sounds about right! Good thing I'm retired, is all I can say :P Well, what goes in ... must come out, right?
