  • x Fruit ?!?!?! x

    hey people :wave
im not too sure on the whole eating fruits in the induction stage.
i have just eaten a pear as i had a really sweet tooth and instead of a chocolate bar or biscuits which i usually would go for i opted for a pear.

im not too sure whether or not i was aloud this in my induction stage? this is my 18th day on induction and i never have veg or anything at the moment, im purely sticking to meat, cheese etc. i have lost 7lbs in 14days and i just wondered what is the effect of me eating a piece of fruit?

sorry this probably sounds like a dumb question but .. lol

    Thanks :hug

Meepness! You haven't had veggies, what-so-ever? You're supposed to have at most three cups of veggies a day to keep your digestive tract in complete working order, otherwise you'll be in some serious pain, woman. Also, it helps regulate the amount of weight loss, as well, and you might just lose a tad bit more. Veggies can be a good source of fiber, and the crunchiness will help stifle your cravings for the icky foods. Yum yum, the crunch is fun. -hugs- You're doing good, though, so keep on going!

Well... no you shouldn't of eaten the pear, and you shouldn't just be eating meat and cheeses. You need vegetables for your complex carbohydrates.

It is apparent that you haven't read the Atkins book. Here are some links at the board that will help you do Atkins right:

      The rules of induction: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=19760

The foods you can eat on induction:

Fruits are added later on in OWL.

I would suggest you read the threads to understand what you should be doing. Right now you are not doing Atkins but your own low carb version. Be very careful.

You really need to eat veggies.

        No fruit on induction.

Read the book (buy it cheap off eBay or at half.com)

Use these links until you get your copy of the book (aka DANDR around here).

        Good Luck

HAHAHA I guess we all saw this post and replied at the same time. There weren't any replies when I started my post.

There is a printable induction list you can use for the time being that Tammy made. It is not meant to replace the book, but it can get you started.

grams are weight units. cups are volume measure you want to use mls to convert. Check out international forum for som help from the UK members.

You should know in the UK the carbs listed on your package are the net Atkins carbs as they have already subtracted the fiber don't suptract again and mess yourself up as some Atkineers have done.

                  Happy low carbing.

Everyone else has been right about the fruit, of course, that it isn't allowed on induction, but I just wanted to say: great job avoiding the chocolate and biscuits! Yes, fruit is a no-no, but it was a much better and more nutritional choice than refined sugar and flour...so just hop back on the wagon and keep going :joy
