Don't feel badly, I went off yesterday and ate a huge slice of BD cake and 3 (3) scoops of ice cream! I gained .6lbs from it. Today I am back on the plan. I again did not feel to guilty, but just regrets for the 4-5 days it will take me to get back into ketosis. Bonnie, we are human. Here's looking twards a new start ... again. LOL

Just a little tough love here since the others are doing a great job at telling you everyone makes mistakes. WHY did you do it? Why not just eat the toppings? What did you tell yourself to justify putting that into your body? What can you do to stop that from happening again?

Re: Oh My Oh My Oh My

Thank you for throwing the tough love in there... I have to make myself feel guilty by the way or I will do it again. I can say that I honestly did it because I just didn't want to cook. Oh and I really don't even like meat lovers pizza... I tried to get veggie lovers so I could eat the toppings and then when my husband said no I was like fine then whatever, I'll just eat the dang pizza. At least then it will taste good... No emotions to it at all. I knew I was doing the wrong thing, I just did it anyway. It won't happen again though. I felt sick all night from carb overload... I didn't eat very much of the pasta... good thing was that I ordered Chicken Alfredo and they gave us meat marinara... I don't care for marinara and I KNOW that if they would have given us the alfredo I would have eaten even more.

I have moved on. I am actually down 2 lbs from yesterday, (probably because I just started taking Metformin and it is pretty much clearing me out. Sorry for TMI) Hopefully that will counteract the carbs I had for dinner yesterday... (only 10 carbs 20 fat and 15 protein weren't in pizza/breadstick/pasta... that tells you how unhealthy the rest of Americans are eating some of them several times a week when they go to Pizza HUt)

I highly doubt it was nearly as sastisfying as losing weight. Really, pizza from chains. Ick!!!

Tough love here too but I know you can hop right back on and learn from your mistakes!!!

Bonnie..the important thing is that you learn the lesson from it...which you say you did. I think that is more important than doing it and not feeling bad about it at all. If you don't feel a little bad or guilty then there is nothing to stop you from doing it again..so good for you. Maybe next time you can get a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza or if push comes to shove then just eat the topping or order something that you can have. Don't sabatoge yourself or give the power to others to do. You have the power to choose what goes into your body and the fact that you felt awful body wise afterwards shows you that you need to take care of yourself. You learned the lesson...now move on. I recommend moving up the OWL rungs.

Re: Oh My Oh My Oh My

Tomorrow will be my one week anniversary (one week! oy!), and although I feel pretty good I'm still acclimating to this new way of eating. When I'm making dinner (tonight will be braised chicken and broccoli), I always make carbo sides for my non-Atkins husband. When I'm tempted to lick the mashed potato spoon I just think: "This is the gunk that got me in such terrible shape!" Then it kind of loses its luster :P What I miss is fruit! It would be soooo lovely to eat fruit Back to basics, Bonnie dear, onward and upward!

Thanx, Elsie! The thought of peaches and melon makes me drool ... but it's berries first, right? Although I think I'll be on Induction for longer than two weeks ... more like a month. Really need to give the old "metaz" a kick in the slats

FL..yep berries first. MMM..strawberries with heavy cream and a bit of splenda. Don't spend all your time on extended induction. You will have a better chance at long term success moving up the ladder and learning your bodies likes and dislikes.

Yes doodette I do the same thing... make the carb-y stuff for my hubby and just don't eat it... he was surprised that I was willing to do that, but it works for me because I don't get too tempted to eat those things (except beans but I have to just tell myself it's coming soon)
