are protein shakes allowed on induction??

i was craving sweets so badly i had one...1 g of carb.

but now im' at like, 22 carbs. i feel so terrible.

also, the cheese i have been usin says zero carbs - am i safe to say it's zero? the cheese is grated - how much grated cheese is approximately one ounce?

    thanks

1/4 cup grated cheese is about an oz.

If there is milk in your protein shake, no it was not 'legal.' It is hard to tell you when we don't know the makeup of the food. With only 1 g of carb, it doesn't seem like it was with milk. If it had tofu, and no fruit or such, it was perfectly legal.

Jake, you are a guy right?

Guys lose like gangbusters on Atkins. You will do fine, don't stress so much. A carb or two over isn't the kiss of death! You have us to answer questions and to cheer you on.. there is plenty of bright sides to your story, man!

      Re: protein shakes/20 carb limit

The problem I have with protein shakes is that Atkins is not really a 'high protein' way of eating, but a 'high fat/medium protein' one. so if you decide that the ingredients of a shake are legal for your stage of Atkins you need to make sure you are not overdoing the protein.
Finally, make sure you are not consuming excess quantities of protein. When eaten to excess, protein converts to glucose.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
