So guys I"m on day 1 of Induction and I am feeling so depressed. I just feel huge, and I think it is because I'm simply not used to eating this much. My stomach is all distended and I feel so terrible.

To top it all off, I had 22 carbs today, so I already screwed up. Mind you 2 of those carbs was from Diet Coke...which when I did atkins the first time around I didn't count as carbs at all and I still lost. Plus I used margarine instead of butter because we just didn't have any butter.

And I'm just not sure what I am going to do for breakfsasts continually - I will need constant help.

Plus my friend just mentioned going to some peach festival in like, 2 weeks and I'm so upset that I wotn be able to eat a peach...plus I work tomorrow.

    I feel like crying

This is going to work, right? I feel so nauseous right now.

    Re: depressed

I would not stress about the 2 carbs, it is what it is. Just do better tomorrow and the upcoming days. You realize you made a mistake which is a good sign.

Picture yourself at your goal, I bet that peach will not taste as good as reaching your end goal!! Good luck and raise your chin up. Tomorrow is a new day.

So what did you eat to make you feel so full?
We are supposed to eat when hungry and till no longer full, so stop when you feel you have eaten enough and put away any food on your plate till later.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

        Re: depressed

first off, congrats on just getting through the first day. sometimes that is the toughest one.

secondly, i wouldn't worry too much about 22 carbs, compared to what you were probably used to eating, that number is still not bad for the first day. did you remember to subtract your fiber from your veggies for the day. if not, then your carb intake may in fact be lower than you originally thought.

as for the diet coke.....for your best results, you may want to consider dropping it, as caffeine and aspertame can be known to stall some people. just thought i add that in for consideration. diet rite would be a better choice if you still fill like you need a soft drink every so often. it is made with splenda and has no caffeine.

        best wishes on your journey.

I was rather depressed and felt huge on day one as well. But I feel quite motivated, energetic, and thin on day 60! Time went by pretty quickly as long as I focused on "today" rather than "tomorrow."

I was just thinking the other day that last year when I was in the 240s and thinking I needed to lose weight, I would have felt fat and depressed. But now that I am down from the 270s, 240s actually feels great! Consider where you might be 60 days from now if you hadn't started now, then stick to the "here and now" and stay true to the plan. You'll be consoling others in no time at all!
