  • High Fat, Low Protein

    Hello,
I checked with the Ketosis strips today, and they aren't exactly where I would have liked. I am guessing it is because of too much protein. Is there a list of some sort that shows foods that are high in fat, and low in protein?? Thanks a lot for the help!

So what did the ketosis strips show?
Cuts of meat with more fat are good. Fish like salmon or chicken with skin works well. As well as adding fat in cooking.
Do you use Fitday? It kinds of shows you the breakdown in fat, protein and carbs.

One thing I love about this WOE is that I can eat my favorite part of steak...the fatty part. I'm so used to cutting off the fat, but now I can eat it, enjoy it, and not feel guilty!

Did the ketostick have any purple to it at all??? Even a tiny bit of color means you are in ketosis... I don't remember who said it, but I once read on here that you can liken it to a pregnancy test... you either are or you aren't... no in betweens!!!!

        Adding fat:
        1/2 avocado
cream cheese (not over your 3-4oz/day of course)
Cooking with full fat butter/olive oil
        Have a Beautiful Day

          Re: High Fat, Low Protein

This isn't a high protein diet, nor is it a low protein one. It's a moderate protein diet. Protein should comprise 30% of your total daily calories.

As for the ketostix---if they turn any shade or purple or beige, you are in ketosis/lipolysis.
