  • Help me figure out a good reward!

Hey everyone. So I've been doing Atkins or a bad variation of it.....since April. I've lost almost 20 lbs. and happy with the loss thus far. Of course it's not as fast as I'd like but that happens. Anyway, in my weightloss journey I've been having the hardest time staying on track. I have no excuses I'm just a twit.

I have yet to complete a fully clean 2-week Induction. I've done a week, I've done 3 weeks but 2 days weren't clean, etc. I need to do the plan as stated in the book! I want to move onto OWL, I want to more onto Pre-Maintenance. I know that each time I screw things up it's going to get harder for me to lose. This is just plain unacceptable.

I drink all my water, I work out, eating needs work! So I've decided to re-start (again...) Induction and it will be a clean 2 weeks because I'm going to reward myself with something for completing those 2 weeks. The only thing is... I have no idea what to reward myself with! I'm not even thinking about the weightloss or inch loss, I just want to do 2 weeks completely clean!

So I invite you all to help me figure out my reward for completing a clean 2 week Induction!

    Let the suggestions begin!

P.S. This is kinda sad cause I'm so darn lame at not being able to eat clean for 2 weeks, I mean common it's only 2 weeks!!! Then I get to add stuff back in! I'm so lame.....

first of all, congrats for deciding that you are worth a clean 2 week induction. also congrats for the 20 lbs loss also. you sound like you are now in the right frame of mind to get it done this time.

for rewards here's a couple ideas for you:
how about treating yourself to a day at the spa. you could either get a massage, or manicure/pedicure or a whole day with the works.

what about finding a catalog from one of your favorite stores, flip through it and find something you'd really like to have, tear out the page and hang it on the fridge or by your computer where you'll see it often. that way you'll have it as some motivation each time you look at it.

best wishes on a clean 2 week induction.

Erm... I am debating buying myself charms for my charm bracelet to mark things. They're something I wouldn't normally buy myself that I can remember what they mean and keep me on track.. plus they're not overly expensive.

The thoughts I have for weight goal rewards always focused around diamonds...

ooh I love the charm idea... My 20 lbs reward is a manicure/pedicure or some new makeup (I'm not currently a big makeup wearer, but hubby likes it and they just opened a Mark store up at our new mall!)

Congrats on starting clean and losing so much weight!!!!

I say have a facial or a massage. Nothing is more self indulgent or more satisfying.

            Hi,

I find I am more able to stick to a goal if I involve someone else in my plans. How about approaching a friend and suggesting that you both do something fun together (like a pedicure, makeover, shopping trip, facial, museum, etc.) once you complete a clean two week Induction. For me knowing that if I cheat, I will have to tell my friend that our plans are delayed is enough of a deterrent for me.

OMG I know what you mean. I have been trying to have a clean 2 week induction for almost a month now. I keep doing something that messes it all up. I am not going to move on until I can get that right. I decided when I reached my first mini goal I was going for a massage and haircut. I scheduled my appointment to when I felt I should be there and this helps me stay foced. Cause there is no way I'm delaying that kind of pampering

Re: Help me figure out a good reward!

My "half-way there" reward was a bicycle. I regret that I didn't reward myself with it earlier in my Atkins because it's a great exercise machine and it's also a means of transportation. So for short trips/errands, I can hop on it and sneak some more exercise into my daily routine rather than use the car or stress that "I would walk, but it's too far."

Anything you want, as long as it's not food related! As was mentioned, exercise equipment is always good... Try to find something that you can use to keep you on track so that you get the best possible reward... A more healthy you!

I love the charm idea, thats a great one. You could use any type of jewelry as a reward or just a day trip somewhere that you've wanted to go and never had the time.

Irish, I'm thinking the charm idea would be great, too. For me it's new clothes and shoes...I love shoes. Maybe shoes! You can always use a new pair of shoes...practical, cute, and stylish

I can't decided between the haircut/massage idea or a pair of new running shoes...I need the haircut and the shoes really bad which one to pick... I would also love a bike. I love bike riding but I don't know if I can afford that yet.

                            Awesome ideas everyone!

Well then I think you should get the running shoes so you can get more results from the exercise. It can only help you! Then after the next five lbs get that hair cut!! Put $20 dollars in a jar each week until you have enough to get that bike you want, then watch the LBs melt!!
