  • Moving on To Extended Induction.

I have decided to move over to the Extended Induction I am not quite ready to go onto OWL. I am happy with the results so far. I am down 14 lbs since I started on July 28. So I am very happy with that. I will keep on reading on this thread and am looking foreward to all the success that so many of us gain on the 14 day induction. Have a great weekend everyone. I will be weighing myself tomorrow since I have not in 5 days. So I am hoping to have lost some more weight.

Sounds right to me. Just watch how much cheese that you are eating I think that we are suppose to stay with 1-2 oz of cheese that is what I did during induction. I ate 2 eggs for breakfast with 3 strips bacon. Lunch I ate 1-2 hamburger patties and a side salad of romaine lettuce with cucumber and peppers in it. No carb salad dressing usually ceaser salad. Dinner I ate usually fish or chicken no skin on the chicken with steamed cauliflower or brocolli. So yours sounds right. Keep it up 4 lbs is a great start.

        Hi Desi

If you don't have a copy of DANDR with the list of allowed foods for induction you might want to copy the info from a couple of our Atkins FAQs and print it out so you have something to refer to when out and about.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

thanks for the response...i pretty much get what i can eat n what not.my question is......whats up with calories?how many are we alowed.i know we shouldnt count them, but there has to be a limit.i dont wanna gain from eating to many calories.n im very iffy with the veggies to,so i doubt that my carbs are at 20 grams.i mostly really only eat meat.and its so hard.i must say though,is it normal that i have not had atkins flu,or is that not a must for everybody?????

Des, I never had induction flu so I don't think that everyone gets it. I got really moody for 2 days my husband said that I was harsh. When it comes to calories I never went over 1800 calories and I roughly got 15-18 grams of carbs. I try to excercise at least 30 min cardio every day. I also do lots of abs and squats since it is my mid section and lower body that I want to tone. Oh yeah I also do push ups. I joined the chalenges and it holds me accountable. I just love this website. . Have a great day.

You should only consume 3-4 ounces of cheese daily per DANDR 2002 edition. This includes the following types --
Cheddar, Cream Cheese, Gouda, Mozzarella, Roquefort, Blue Cheese, and Swiss. I'd be warry of cheap non-deli cheeses because they can contain sugar. For example Walmart's Great Value Fancy Shredded Mild Chedar CHeese contains Potato Starch! Also make sure your bacon is not 'cured with sugar'.

I stopped adding shredded cheese and cheese singles to my meals because they are too processed. I not pretty much stick with Mozzarella String Cheese because it is easy to keep track of my daily limit at only one ounce a stick.
