  • day 7, vomitting

I have been feeling nasty all day tired/vomitting/sick. Is this the induction flu??? I feel horrible. All i've eaten today is 4 pcs of bacon for breakfast, some coffee with breakfast and some crystal light. I took some pepto bismol (cherry flavored) before I vomitted and I wonder if that has carbs?? But after I took it I vomitted so im not sure if it even matters. Is there anything i can do/take to make this go away quicker??

    Hi there,

I would say if you are concerned go to a dr and get them to check you out because vomitting is not normal for induction flu.

Induction flu is normally just headaches, maybe nausea, but I've not heard of vomitting.

It looks like your food intake has been very small. Is that your normal induction menu? If so I would recommend re-reading the induction chapter of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, as well as the stickies here. These two are great: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...lent-tips.html

You should be eating more generally, especially make sure how have three cups of induction veggies per day. Cheese, eggs and other meats will also help fill you up and make your diet more balanced.

I'm in the UK so I don't know what crystal light is, perhaps someone else can advise.

Could the pepto bismol have made you sick? It sounds like it might have artificial sweetners, so should be avoided for induction if possible, as should coffee.

I hope you feel better soon. And get to a Dr if you are still unwell.

I do think that some of us are more sensitive than others, or perhaps we are more addicted to carbs/sugar. I'm in about my 4th week now, and a couple weeks ago, I did vomit once, in addition to all the nausea, etc. The Pepto-bismo probably has sugar in it. I find that it helps to just try to eat more protein and try not to have an empty stomach. And-just think-all this sickness is for a very good reason, and it will pass! Before you know it, we'll be slender!!!
