Ok, now I understand. Well, that ends the bars and shakes then; I don't want to stall out and I do want to be able to cope without using them as a crutch because knowing me, I would do it to avoid eating food sometimes and I don't ever want to do that. I want to be able to learn to eat natural, unprocessed, unpackaged food and feel better. I want to return to eating like a person, not what the advertisers make their money on. Yes, you are right; I do feel powerful. Probably for the first time in my life, I can say no to a craving and WIN! :joy Which goes to show me that if I had done it all those times before, I would probably be a lot thinner now!

My husband was never used to eating pre-packaged foods, fast food, or junk food because it was too expensive and they don't have a lot of the junk in Maghrib that we have here. And when we were there, I never gained a pound and found I had lost weight when we came here. Every night it was seafood, freshly caught, meat, vegetables and salads. I miss it! Since coming to the U.S. he has gained 30 lbs because of all the junk he has been eating. I am trying to get him away for most of it but he refuses to give up bread and potatoes. LOL! In halting English he told me, "no bread, maybe me no eat!" Oh well, I won half the battle anyways! But then again, he is 6'3 and weighs 160 lbs--not overweight by any means but still....
