It's been 2 weeks Im a little Let down

  • It's been 2 weeks Im a little Let down

    I am a little Discouraged Because week one I lost 11 Lbs and now week 2 came to weigh and I thought It would help me because i would see how much I was loosing Well ,Wrong I have only lost 2 lbs this week. Blah Well I think I need to get a better scale My husband says the scale i am using Is not accurate so It might be wrong all together I might have lost nothing, WEll i know i must be loosing something we are going to go to GNC next Tuesday so I can Weigh. My UPS scale at work I dont think is right. I have been Following the diet with Strict Rules and Have not been eating even close to 20 carbs, I am going to stick this out and Continue my journey Because Next week may be better. Thank you for all your help and support Of this Site.

    At a Stand Still Again Im Pegro1/28/2009

    Mini Goal 1 - 190lbs
    Mini Goal 2 - 180lbs
    Mini Goal 3 - 160lbs
    Finally 150 Lbs

    Relax ... this is not a race. Personally I feel that slower weight loss is better because it gives the body more time to get used to it.

    Dont focus on the weight loss it will come. The body goes through cycles. Dont focus on the scale.

    If you stick with the diet you can get to goal. It may not be tomorrow ... but you will get there ... just be patient.

      I know exactly how you feel. I lost 10 pounds the first week and then only 4 and I was so disappointed. But if 2 weeks ago someone had said in 2 weeks you'll lose 14 pounds I wouldn't hav believed them and here I am wishing for more. You lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks, that is so good, other diets you get 2 - 3 pounds a week if your lucky and usually thrilled to get that. I think its just human nature the more we lose the faster we want to lose it. If only we could lose it as fast as we can gain it.

        You can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight you need to lose during the first 2 weeks. So your 13 pound loss in the last 2 weeks means you have exceeded that 5-10%. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing to be disappointed about!

          Wow, Amazing On the weight Loss! Keep Up the Good Work, I definitely Need to Take your Advice what an inspiration, I have told myself to relax, Like you said I keep thinking this is a race or something, I hope you are right ,I have always been Taught Patience IS a virtu. I need to Remember this is a WOF not a quick Fix Diet. Thank you For you incouragment

            He he Yea I wish that was True Loosing it as fast as we gain it. That Is very True, I never think about it like that, 13 Lbs In 2 Weeks I guess is pretty Amazing Considering I am 13 Lbs Lighter and Wouldnt have been that way if I was still eating McDonalds and Pasta. Congrats On your weight Loss. I hope I can Look At it the same way you do, Thank you. I need to slow down and not Look at this by what the scale says.

              I Congradulate you On your Acheivment, You Are Were I hope to be. I Have heard someone Say that But I was Sure How that worked . Humm So does that mean things are going to continue to slow down? I am Still going to stick with this, and I am going to try and be more patient. I see all this great stories on here Including yours and I hope that I can get there too, This Site has been such a big Help, Everyone Is so Helpful. Thank you

                Actually, in most cases, we do lose the pounds faster than we put them on. As I aged, I gained an average of 10 pounds a year between age 45 to 55. That is 100 lbs! With the Aktins WOE I can lose that much weight in one or two years. So we I can take it off quicker than we gained it, but it isn't nearly as much fun or easy to take the weight back off! This time it is going to STAY OFF!

                  JonDeersmom, why are you telling my story to everyone! (smile) You know, that is exactly how I felt after that first week. I lost 12 lbs. in the first week, and then the second week only yielded a measly 3 lbs. WHAT THE HECK! You talk about discouraged I was the poster child! Especially with the fact that I was busting my butt doing cardio every fricken day! BUT, I had to put it in perspective, too. You have to look at the bigger picture hear as Tom said. Do not get caught up in looking for the gigantic weight loss numbers. If you want to lose the amount of weight shown on your ticker, you will want it to be gradual. Otherwise, you run the risk of excess skin being a MAJOR problem.

                  Work on being content with the fact that you can drive by the Golden Arches and not be drawn in like a magnet. You are on the RIGHT path! You can do it and we are here right beside you to win this war! Keep reading and posting on the BB and you will see yourself losing weight like you never thought you could!

                  P.S. DON'T FORGET THAT YOUR WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT ONLY SHOWN ON THE SCALE. IT IS ALSO SHOW IN THE INCHES YOU LOSE OFF OF YOUR BODY. YOU WILL SEE WHAT I MEAN WHEN YOU HAVE TO GET A SMALLER PANTS SIZE!!

                    Hello again, sweetheart!!!

                    The fact that you are in your second week already, which means you're probably deep in ketosis, would be why you lost a glorious 2 pounds!!! Average fat loss for a week's time is no more than 1.5 pounds!! I would DIE to be as metabolically blessed as you!

                    And just remember, you're not gaining and you're not plateauing!! Keep up the good work

                      Some weeks you'll lose more, some weeks you'll lose less. Read the sticky thread called "Weight Loss isn't Linear" for more info.

                      And be sure to measure yourself. I went through a period where I lost one week, "gained" the next week, lost the next week, didn't lose the next week, etc. BUT I lost clothing sizes.

                        Megs is right - sometimes we lose inches when we are losing no pounds at all!

                        One of the 6 week exercise challenge ribbon winners in #44 challenge lost only 4 pounds but 18.5"!!

                          I was disappointed too.

                          The first week, I lost 5 lbs. The second week, I gained 1 lbs.

                          I was like, WHAT!!!

                          But I now realize that this is normal. And if you stick with the diet, the weight WILL come off -- it's simply the laws of physics.

                            Great encouragement from everyone here and I will say that you did great as well.

                            And am wondering if you are getting your 3 cups of veggies in. If you are just eating lettuce you really should be switching that up with some of the other veggies on the list for more nutrition. I think that 12-15 carbs should be coming from veggies.

                              Wow , Thank you for your realativness, Its nice to know that im not in this alone. I am still one vacation and comeing home monday, I have been doing Great and Following thing good, i never thought I could, Exspecially having everyone offering me things , And its was really easier than I thought to Turn everyone down.Looks like you are doing really well.
