My two weeks of induction are almost up. I ate by thebook completely until yserday when i had a big hunk of chocolate cake. I still feel horrible about it. Not even sure why I did it. And I don't know if it's my imagination or not but I feel fatter. I haven't really lost all that much weight. About 2lbs I think. But my clothes do feel a lot looser. But now since I ate that cake I feel like it was all a wasted effort. But I'm gonna keep on cause I know that I'm just beating myself up, a I should be cause one piece of cake was NOT worth it.

Re: 2 weeks almost gone.
At least you know now not to allow yourself to do the same again
You might find increased cravings for sweet things after eating that cake, so make sure you have plenty of 'legal' highfat snacks available for if the munchies strike and carry on eating to plan as you have done so well up to that moment!
When you have done your 14 days induction take a look at the chart in DANDR to discover your metabolic resistance to weightloss to decide how to plan the rest of your Atkins journey. Because of the cake you might not lose as much weight as you might have done in those 14 days, but it is done and cannot be undone.
Well done on not deciding to give up on Atkins because of that slip
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: 2 weeks almost gone.
Thanks for your support. I think I will stay on induction for a while longer. Until I see some real resuls as far as pounds go. don't get m wrong, i have seen results already. My skin has cleared up, my clothes feel loser (they did until I ate the cake) and I have tons more energy. And I noticed hat my hunger went RIGHT down after about the first week. I just wanted food for fuel instead of food for being bored or just fo the taste. I didn't however have the bad taste in my mouth or the bad breath but I smoke. maybe that's it.

Re: 2 weeks almost gone.
How much weight are you hoping to lose? An 'average' amount to lose in the first 2 weeks on induction is between 5% and 10% of the total hoped-for loss.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: 2 weeks almost gone.
I started at 219 pounds. And I want to get down to 150. Last time I checked which was about 10 days in to the diet. before any screw ups or cheats, and I had lost about 2 pounds. I feel like I am just not doing it right or something. But I am going by the book. I watch every tiny thing i cook with and everything. But my clothes do feel a bit looser. I just have no wight loss to show for it. Except the two pounds. I drink tons of water. About 8 glasses a day. For breakfast I have 2 eggs and 2 pieces of unsmoked bacon. I cook both in olive oil. For lunch I usually have tuna with mayo and salad (about 2 cups of lettuce, onion, tomato) And dinner is different each night but usually a serving of meat with a cup of greens or brocolli or cauliflower. I may need to cut down my portion sizes on the meat? I dunno. All I know is that I feel better since I started it. And even though i cheated the one time. I have been able to stick to it better than any other diet I have ever tried. Just hoping it's not all for nothing.

Re: 2 weeks almost gone.
I am sure it will not all be for nothing
Your food choices seem fine to me, so it might just be that you have more resistance to losing weight than the average person. Unless you are eating huge amounts of meat I would keep on as you were and see if your body just needs a little longer to decide to start allowing those surplus pounds to leave.
We had an admin member who lost no weight at all on induction but did feel better from eating Atkins and went on to climb the OWL ladder and reached her goal.
Finding this is a way of eating that you can stick to is a great achievement in itself
