  • Should I be concerned?

This is not related to Atkins, or at least I don't think so, but for the past 2 to 3 weeks my feet and ankles have been swollen. I'm talking elephant man swollen. Not the retaining water, your a fat girl swollen. They look retarded. My feet never ever looked like this and honestly I'm grossed out (it's sandal season and I have the most gorgeous feet LOL) and I'm concerned because I dont know what causing this. (My feet did not look this bad when I was 9 months pregnant!!)

Any advice or opinions or thoughts would be appreciated. I dont want to be a hypochondriac, but then again, the weirdest things happen to me

    Re: Should I be concerned?

If you are following the plan and drinking your water and not going over board on your salt I, too, would say it is probably not Atkins related. However, since this has been going on for 2-3 weeks and is very noticeably not normal I would go to the doctor as it could a warning sign of something else. Update here after and let us know!!

      Hey there,
This kind of swelling for so long is probably not related to you doing Atkins. That kind of swelling is not normal or healthy. You, in all seriousness, probably need to see a doctor, TODAY! This could be a sign of a heart condition.

A heart condition? My hubby and other family are telling me it's because I'm heavy and have been walking more in my commute than normal. Is that possible - another punishment for being heavy?

Or high blood pressure or retaining water. If you are waking up and they are still swollen you really should go to the doctor just to cover your bases.
