  • Starting Induction on Wednesday!

    Hi! My name is Phoebe.

This is my first post. About 4 years ago I tried Atkins with my mom. I lost 20 lbs, and went from 130 to 110 (this was when I was 14 and felt overweight). I'm now 18, have my own apartment, a fiance and I am very unhappy with the way I look.

    I'm 5'4 (maybe 5'3 or 5'5, I don't know lol)
And at least 157 lbs (last time I checked... 2 weeks ago)

I want to get down to 115.

How long (if I followed Atkins consistently and strictly) do you think this would take me? Keep in mind I have an in-the-middle metabolism, but tend to lean more on the slower side.

    Any tips/suggestions/induction-friendly recipes are welcome!

Also, I was wondering.. you are ALLOWED to drink diet soda, as long as it is sweetened with Splenda? And even so, count 1 gram of carb per can of diet soda?

Here is the induction foods list, and yes, Splenda sweetened sodas are allowed, don't overdo them.

Can't say how long your goal will take you to reach... but a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, you know? Get out and get active, exercise makes a big difference. You are cute as can be, don't let anyone...(I mean ANYone) get you down. You were a healthy weight in these pics.. rockin' those stripes, girl.. they would be good 'goal pics.'

      Welcome to the board, Phoebe!

      Your pictures are beautiful!

Here's a website you might enjoy... there's TONS of ideas you can play with.
Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home

My four suggestions I always share: post often, follow the plan as Dr. A wrote out (by the book), exercise (it's required, find something you enjoy doing and do it), and drink your water. And remember, this is a way of eating for life and the weight will come off over time.

      Best wishes!

Thank you! I won't overdo them.. I'm a huge fan of water, so it won't be a problem.

But I was wondering why that is? Does aspartame have a lot of carbs, or something? Thanks!

My boyfriend used to be a boxer, and used to play on an ice-hockey and street-hockey team, and he is getting into that again, as well.. So I am going to see if he wants to pick up some skates and skate around with me a couple days a week, as well as teach me to box!

Thank you so much! Yes, stripes are awesome, that shirt is my favorite EVER!
