  • Anyone use Kellogg's Protein Water?

I am on day 6 (eight lbs down as of yesterday) and my husband varifies hourly that, yes, my breath still reeks (but since he just gave up his nicotine addiction when I gave up my sugar/starch addiction he's VERY understanding...plus HIS breath is SO MUCH BETTER LOL). Anyway, I'm struggling to gag down the almost-gallon of water a day. I can't find any other posts addressing this question either...so, is Kellogg's Protein Water okay on iduction? I've been using the mix (premade has more of everything) and only using it at half-strength. It's got 6g carbs per serving but 5g are fiber and it also has 5g protein. My concern is that it's made with "Polydextrose" (sounds like sugar-something in disguise) but it also has sucralose, which is okay, right? I know some of you out there should be awarded honorary biochemistry degrees so I'm sure someone will have a great answer. Thanks in advance...and thank's for all the inspiration on this board!

    Careful with protein intake.

Atkins is a high fat diet, not a high protein diet. Your protein should comprise about 30% of your daily calories only. Dr. Atkins wrote that excess dietary protein is converted to glucose, which is either used immediately for energy or is stored as body fat. So be careful about anything that's "high protein" or even that protein water stuff.

As for drinking water, some folks have taken lemon or lime slices and put that into their water to flavor it. Others use fresh mint sprigs or even slices of cucumber.

As for polydextrose---it's a non-caloric sweetener/bulking agent. That supposedly doesn't interfere with your blood sugar.

Good point about the emphasis on fat vs. protein. Thank you!
