    heya,
ok i get free food at the company cafeteria everyday, so today we had chicken in soy sauce, bean curd in soy sauce, celery in black pepper sauce.

i took all three and later discovered the chicken dish also had potatoes, so my question is can i eat this dish if i only eat the chicken?

    can i eat bean curd?

how can you measure vegetables used in the food given in the cafeteria?

    Re: eating out

I would say no to all three. The soy sauce probably has wheat in it. Unless they use Braggs or tamari...which does not. There is a mixed concenus on the soy sauce made without wheat...some say it falls under condiments if used sparingly and others say not at all until the legume rung. The bean meal is not allowed until the legume rung. Sounds to me like a lot of soy sauce that day and so sodium as well... I would be upping my water to help flush it out.

Guess you may have to decide do you want free food or staying true to your diet and bringing it from home. A nice salad with some protein and salad dressing. More work but greater success on Atkins.

As for measureing I have read that studies show that we almost always guess low..but to help you get close you can start measuring things out so you have a better idea of what a cup or a 1/2 cup of different things look like on a plate.

    Good luck!

        Re: eating out

Just a thought - might it be possible to have a word with the catering staff/management to see if they could offer a few other alternatives for people who dont like or want to eat the 'normal' dishes they serve.

I imagine you won't be the only person wanting to avoid highly seasoned sauces, sugars and starches.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Along Elizellen's thoughts...if they at least offered a green salad you could make up individual servings of cut up chicken (or meat of choice) into bags to grab during the week and add that to the salad. That way you have some control and some free.

Good for you for doing what is needed and putting your health first.
