  • 2 weeks of induction done

Just wanted to drop in and say DH and I have completed our two week induction with wonderful results. He has lost 20 lbs (whoo hooo) and I have lost 14 (yippeeee) We're both very pleased and amazed at how easy this really is. :yes

We've decided to stay on induction for longer as we both have alot of weight to lose. One thing I really miss though is a salty snack, which surprises me as I was always a big sweet eater, but anyways, is it actually right that you can eat some nuts during extended induction? I've read the posts here and DANDR and I'm not quite sure, or if anyone has another alternative (I cannot seem to find pork rinds here in Nova Scotia) please let me know

I think it's a personal choice...one of the experts around here said they thought it was an ok idea to help keep you on track...others say no that you should just move to OWL...make sure if you do eat nuts that you don't eat more than the 1oz serving...its easy to go crazy and eat a larger portion...if you like salty snacks I like to make parmesan crisps...you just put some shredded parmesan cheese on a baking pan and bake until crispy.

      Congratulations!!!

That's just such wonderful news! I can't advise you on the Pork Rinds really but what you may want to do is talk to the specialty foos shops in your area and ask if they can order some for you. Of course scour the Internet using keyword phrases like "Pork rinds, retail, international" in search engines like google or yahoo, you're bound to come across something.

As for staying on Induction my understanding is that as long as you have 50 pounds to lose or more that's not a problem. The last time I did Atkins I spent months on Induction and often called the 800 at the Atkins clinic when I had questions. of course that was long before this board came to be!

Once again congrats to you both - keep going!

wooooooooo hoooooooooo congratulations on the weight lost. thats 34lbs between the two of you.
The amount of nuts one can eat is small and since they are so small(the nuts in size) its easy to over do it. Only suggest if you can maintain the amount allowed.
Keep up the good work and do write your start weight/current weight/ goal weight into your signature.

            Congrats!

Remember to re-read Chapters 12-14. Be especially careful to check what your degree of metabolic resistance to weight loss is. This will help you when you move through the diet---eating your way through OWL and Pre-Maintenance.

See you on the "Extended Induction Forum".
