I am very happy to be down 5lbs. after a mostly effortless and a very tasty week of induction (first couple of days were the hardest).
I wasn't going to weigh but then last night I read the book -You must read Dr. Atkin's book!!!! in order to do this properly!!!!-
and realized that it is good to weigh on a regular basis ( without obsessing) to track how many carbs your body can handle and still lose as you move along in the program.
Reading the book really explains the program in detail and how to gradually add the carbs back and eventually determine how many carbs your body can handle to maintain and not gain or develop cravings.
It really makes sense, and is all figured out for us. All we need to do is Do it properly and have faith that it will work!!!
Don't forget to take your measurements. Although the scale can be used as a tool it isn't always an accurate measure of you progress. I think for once I can use my scale once a week without a big emotional response to determine if I need to change my carb intake. I now see it more as a help to me than a dreaded enemy.
All the support here sure helped me through my first week. Thanks!!!
