  • Hi I'm new. Can I eat pork rinds on induction?

    Hi There

My name is Stacey and have started on the Atkins eating plan today. I have some slight confusion on whether or not I can eat Pork rinds as a snack in my induction 14 days. Any other tips for savour snacking much appreciated.

I did... just check the carb count on the package... My 90 grm bag has 3 carbs... I cannot eat more than 1/4 bag per day... so I make sure I factor that into my 20 gram allowance. I like using the pork rind and dipping it into egg salad.. lots of ways to snack with pork rinds...

I love pork rinds! I allow my self 10 "chips" and dip them in 2 TBSP sour cream. it is a great snack! Oh, I buy the extra spicy ones...

You do need to check the ingredients listed on the packets as some have sugar added, but they are an acceptable snack in moderation

The plain ones i buy dont have anything bad in them but the 'hot' ones have all kinds of junk in them ... so make sure you check...

Other then that for snacks i eat: hard boiled eggs, string cheese, baby bell cheeses, pepparoni, salami ( but check labels) ...

Oh happy 1st Day of Atkins.. Hows it goin so far?

As a southern man who grew up on pork rinds, just keep in mind that they are high in sodium, and have the risk factor of causing fluid retention and the like d/t that salt content. Just be cautious.
