  • Trying again for the second time

My name is Dawn. I am a 37 year old mother of 6 children. I tried Atkins a few months ago. I lost 8lbs the first 2 weeks. I was exercising 5 - 6 days a week. In my 3rd week I gained back 4lbs ( was doing everything the same ) I didnt cheat at all, I became so discouraged, I quit and now weigh 10lbs more. I know I can do this, Im am determined to lose this weight.

    I currently weigh 185lbs
My goal for now is 160lbs
    My main goal is 120lbs
    I am 5' 2"

Please any encouragement is greatly appreciated. I need to get this weight off, Im miserable.

Thank you so much and good luck to you all.

Hi Dawn, welcome back to this WOE. Please try to give it more time this time around, as with any diet you will go up and down on the scale, some days I might gain 3 pounds, then lose 5 or vice versa...don't let the scale rule you! Also... take your measurements! You could've been losing inches and not known it, but gained a few pounds...that happens quite often.
I hope you decide to stick it out...because the results of everyone don't lie, Atkin's does work
Hope that helps a lil, I know there's days where I get bummed out, but I promise you if you stick to your guns you WILL see results and you will feel so much better

I agree with Angie, you just need to seriously give this time to work for you. In your initial drop you could have been loosing water weight. Not to mention you said you were working out. (good job) Keep up with that part of the plan...4 sure.

Try again... 14 days worth of induction meals... then see what your results are. Find some place on the boards to post daily or as often as you can. It will help you to keep up your spirits. You said it yourself...you need the support of others. We are here for you. Post often... ask questions.

There are so many smart women on this board that have been down the same path you are starting on. Each of them has some words of wisdom for you.

      Good luck to yourself.

              1. come here often
              2. read everything
              3. ask questions

you will find amazing support and encouragement - it really helps.. 24/7 you can always post a message, read some advice, its like a group "meeting" but open to your schedule - i would have quit long ago had it not been for the people here.. it really helps to talk to someone whos gone thru what you are/will go thru
