I'm doing Induction for the first time and am very confused!!!
I came across a web site that I thought was the official Atkins web site - called Atkins Nutritional. There were online classes on Atkins and message boards - and it all seemed very official. However, on the message board they recommend things that seem a little different than what the 2002 Atkins book says - for example, they say that you should have 12-15 net carbs of vegetables a day during Induction, and that to accomplish this it is fine to eat more than 1 cup of the "other vegetables." They also added a few things to the permitted food list on Induction, for example, Atkins Nutritional shakes and bars which they seem to say are ok during Induction for some people. They explain this by saying Atkins is "frozen" in 2002 and new research has shown what they recommend is best.
I did 2 days of Induction the way the 2002 book indicates, and then I did 3 more days using the modifications on Atkins Nutritional. Now after reading some of the posts here, I'm wondering if these modifications are really ok.
Does anyone know if Atkins Nutritional is really Dr. Atkins center? I think I had found it by using the website address he gave in his 2002 book.
