Hi everyone. I just registered today, plan on starting tomorrow, and I have a couple questions. I was out food shopping today, to get ready for my new woe, and I found coca cola zero. According to the label, it has 0 carbs, 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 protein. Matter of fact, the only thing it does have is sodium-30 mgs. Is this okay? If not during induction, maybe later? Im really having a hard time giving up my hot tea with creamer in the morn, my starbucks frappucinos, and my pepsis. I hope this will be able to replace some of that. Also, does anyone know anything about the medicine Methadone? I was always around 135 lbs (less when I was in my 20's), but since starting this medication, about a year and a half ago, I have ballooned to 190 lbs!!!!! Any help would be appreciated . I hope Im not posting in the wrong forum, if so, Im sorry.

Re: Coupla questions about induction phase
Welcome to the board.
I think your doctor would probably be the best to ask about the Methadone. I have dispensed it to Patients in the past and they were all very thin and had been on it for at least a year. Dosages may have something to do with it.
Whats in a coke zero? Is it splenda or aspertame? Remember you can only have 3 servings of sweetner a day. A clean induction is best for optinmal weight loss and no cravings. Read everything you can here to help you!
Try to think of options you can replace the old favorites with. Like decaf coffee and tea.The cravings will only be difficult for a few days then you wont even miss the old stuff as long as you give yourself other options you enjoy
Good Luck!

Re: Coupla questions about induction phase
OOoops!! Just checked the coke zero label again, and saw it has 23g caffeine in 8 oz glass, and the dreaded aspartame. Oh well. I got so used to just looking at the box on the label, and checking carbs, I forgot to check the ingredients!!!!!

Re: Coupla questions about induction phase
Hi Beergirl, congratulations on getting yourself headed in a good direction. You mention tea with creamer. Have you considered herbal teas with heavy cream? My favorites are blueberry and wild raspberry by the Stash tea company. I usually have it in the evening after dinner, with a little heavy cream. Just pour the cream in and let it float to the top, don't stir, and each sip will have a creamy feel to it. SO wonderfully fulfilling!redfoxglove
