  • Ugh.

Everytime I eat induction friendly foods, my stomach hurts for a long while afterwards, probably about 30 minutes to an hour or so. I don't know why it's like that, it never has been this way before when I was on induction. Can anyone tell me what's wrong? -cry- I have to go to work in pain, again! :sadblinky I'll be back later on. Thanks a lot, guys.

    :hug

Time to go visit your doctor! :hug
I don't think any of us are qualified to know what could be going on in your tummy. Keep a food diary for a few days so when you see your doctor you can show him/her what you've been eating. Also keep track of how long after you eat the pains start, and approx. how long they last. The more ifo you can bring your doctor, the better. :yes

Take care and let us know what you find out.

I definetly agree you should check with your doctor. But I also get all sorts of weird symptoms that I'm convinced is my subconscience trying to convince me I NEED to eat something else. That might not be the case for you, its just a thought.

I don't disagree that a visit to the doctor may be in order, but, I think there are some clues in your journal, as well.

As recently as Sunday, you ate some non-induction foods until, by your own admission, you felt sick. So technically, you are just beginning Atkins again after what could only be a carb loaded cheat if bread and milk were involved.

You need to plan your foods and when you don't know if there will be safe foods where you are going to be, plan ahead. You don't have to fail and you don't have to feel sick. But withdrawal from carbs is enough to cause people to feel poorly for a few days.

So, think honestly what you have been eating and whether you've been eating only what is one the Acceptable Food List for Induction with no cheating ... make sure you are drinking water for fluid and decide whether you can stay with this plan.

I don't mean to be harsh with you, but I know how badly you want to lose the weight.

        Bless you and Best wishes.

please keep this a secret, just between you and me, but I was walking by a friends desk and she had some hard candies in a bowl. I had it peeled and in my mouth before I even relized it. I had a horrible stomach ache within a few minutes. I am sure that Irish is right, you either have to be on it or not.

Thanks a lot for the posts, they mean a lot to me. I am feeling a lot better than I did yesterday because I stuck to the WOE for the whole day. Water helped stifle the pain for a bit and then it finally went away. I even didn't have that much of an appetite as the day progressed, but I forced myself to eat something for dinner. And yes, I really do want to lose weight and I am working really hard on it now because my dad blames everything on me just because I am fat. "Who stole the candy? I think it was you, Bekka." Dude thanks for scapegoating me, just because I am fat. >< Hypocrite.

              Hi Bekka,
So glad you're feeling better! Girl, you CAN do this. You are so lucky you don't have alot of weight to lose! And you are a beautiful girl, just think when you hit your goal weight how much better you are going to feel about yourself. It won't matter anymore what people think about you or blame on you, you KNOW you are living and eating right. After just a few days on this diet, doing it the right way no matter what your attitude was before how much you have to lose or how much you are losing, you will be so happy with yourself.
The cravings for all that junk went away for me probably 2-3 days after starting this diet. And don't for one minute think I wasn't one of the biggest chocolate carb junkies in the world! I would sit and eat almost a pound of M&M's and wash it down with a Dr. Pepper...just because it was SO good. I'd always start a diet on Monday.. never was good to start it TODAY had to be a Monday.. well, Monday morning would come around and I was eating half asleep before I remembered I was supposed to start a diet.. "oh well, next Monday" Don't let yourself get like that Bekka, it's not a good life, it's horrible. Food was controlling my life and making me miserable...physically and mentally. Right now I am so please with myself and I still have a long way to go.

You will get through this... stick with it!

Hey Bekka! Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, but it looks like you may have gotten past the worst of it. It probably was induction flu all over again. I know it's tough, but it's so worth it, right?!?! :hug :hug for you!

Thankies! :hug :hug To everyone who posted.

I can't find my running shoes, I think I gave them away. Ha ha, so I have to run with my work shoes and now I have to wear the icky new woirk shoes that I got, which really hurt me a lot. So that's fine, I don't mind.

Ate a low carb cheeseburger with no ketchup, and boy was it YUMMY. I didn't eat all that much since I don't want to throw up when I am running. Ha. Only 1 mile today, I think.
