Tonight I was feeling extra hungry, so I fired up the old grill and had two cheeseburgers, a small steak, and a half onion that I seasoned, buttered, and placed in tin foil and put them on the grill. What a supper!!!!

Re: Nice splurge
Oh yes, I agree with bblady...and a sweet onion on the grill is almost not-legal...around here we have Walla Walla sweets, every bit as good as Vidalia onions (what about it, Georgia fans?)snerk snerkredfoxglove

Re: Nice splurge
It was amazing actually. I used the butter with the olive oil mixed in, then put some extra olive oil on it, pepper, garlic powder, and a little all season mix. They were great. This morning I used the butter to cook my eggs and noticed a difference it taste that was amazing. I think if I have anything to cook on the skillet from now on, I'm using my butter. For lunch right now, I'm eating a spinach and cucumber salad, with a cut up chicken breast and a cut up hamburger patty, and about 2 ounces of cheese. Anyone know a good way to judge an ounce of cheese? I'm using colby longhorn on the block.

Re: Nice splurge
To measure block cheeses you can look at your ounces and cut in half and half and half until you get 1 oz pieces. Ex. an 8 oz block, cut in half = 4 oz each, cut each in half again = 2 oz each, one more cut in half for each and you now have 1 oz pieces. No more measuring for that block of cheese. Works the same with the larger 16 oz just more cuts.
Have fun cutting the cheese!!!! LOL

Re: Nice splurge
wow as soon as I get home I'm writing that jalapeno idea down...
another way to estimate cheese is to cut it into gambling dice sized pieces, I think 2 dice equals one ounce... I plan to check out this theory with my new electronic scale I just got yesterday...redfoxglove
