Are sugar alcohols allowed. My sugarfree gum has 1 gram of sugar alcohol in it. Could this be why I can't get into ketosis? Or could it be that I drink a gallon of water a day?

It is allowed but not everyone will be able to handle it. Maybe you are one of those who needs to cut it out. The gum may be leading to insulin spikes and preventing your ketosis. I would definitely scrap it if you are having some trouble.Startdate: November 18, 2007. Female 5'2"
