I have a date or two coming up this week, this probably includes wine or sharing small dishes. I don't want to be super picky and annoying with every place my date chooses. I'm 130 and I know Im not fat, (I'm 5
    6) but want to eat healthier and feel cleaner..I recently have not been doing the healthiest things and want to straighten my life..

I want to eat healthier, cut down drinking, and get healthy but I don't want my dates to know. Is this impossible w atkins and can i still go out to restaurants on my dates w o looking psycho. I dont want to eat a burger w o bun on a date because they will know and i just dont wanna advertise im on this plan.

Meaning, if I get a fish dish and there is some sauce on the bottom of the plate that has sugar or i cant eat, can i scrape it off and like pick the ALLOWED food around the stuff on my plate and still be on the diet and lose? Or is it this KISS of death thing true? On my date, can I still eat my piece of fish and veggies if i scrape off the sauce on the bottom..os is this kiss of death mean i cant do that?

I am about to grocery store to buy induction foods. can i do this?

For restaurants, tell the waiter that you don't want any sauce with it. This includes salad--tell them you want the dressing on the side. That way, you'll be able to control the amount of dressing you eat with it.

If the main course appears with the sauce, daintily scrape off the sauce from your serving. Plenty of people will cut off a portion of the food, and use the knife to remove the excess. It's not unusual and as long as you don't make a big deal out of it, your date probably won't notice. Same thing with the vegetables. There are people who don't like carrots and will eat around them. Unless you would like to give your dates the impression that you are a human Hoover vaccuum cleaner, you don't have to scrape your plate clean.

As for burgers....if you don't want to eat the bun, don't eat it. If your date should ask, say the truth: you are trying to eat healthier by cutting out highly processed and refined food like non-whole grain breads and added sugars. Most burger buns are nothing but refined wheat.

I generally tell people that I've cut out refined, processed foods and added sugars and I eat whole, natural, minimally processed and refined foods. That knocks out most pastas, noodles, and desserts off the menu. And people think it's great to eat so "healthy". Little do they realize that's what Atkins is all about---eating whole, natural minimally processed foods.

Hmmm...how about ordering a grilled chicken ceasar salad and packing a toothbrush and toothpaste in your purse?? Or show him you are not afraid of red meat...steak, hold the potatoe, extra veggies no sauce please.

I would also be reading the book and having a look at what we eat once we are at maintenance since your goal is not necessarily to lose weight but to eat healthier.
