  • where do low carb options NOT on the list come in?

I have 3 days left in induction and can't wait because I need some sugars like Atkins bars to stop feelings nauseated.

I'm wondering when is it a good idea to consume low carb foods that aren't on the list, like low carb breads, low carb desserts, etc.

Are those off limits until stage 4?

Have you tried sugar free Jello? From what I can tell that is ok for induction. Are you sure you aren't eating something that may keep your cravings going? I have read recently on this board that fat helps with the cravings.

If you want to add the 'lowcarb' bars and breads you need to check the list of ingredients in them then see if those ingredients are 'legal' for whichever rung/level of OWL you are at.

So if they contain wheat flour they should be left till the grains rung.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Are you familiar with OWL. On going weightloss. In DANDR that is the next phase after induction. In OWL you will start adding back some foods you did not eat in induction. You should follow the ladder so it depends on what is in the items you want to eat when you will be allowed to eat them.

I would add a second vote of caution on the bars in general. As to the nauseated feeling, it was fairly normal for me to have a "rotgut" sort of feeling the first few days as my body said "why are you eating all this...stuff." Over time, however, the feelings of nausea related to my food choices went away. It can take some time. But I would really think long and hard about incorporating anything into my diet without some careful study of the ingredients and a check on here to see if there's any evidence of stalling people out...which for the bars, and for many "low carb" products tends to be the case.
