  • oh well try try again

i have been a little down because i have been stuck at 164 for 5 several days. the only thing i am doing different is I am walking an hour ever evening. any way i dreamt las night i had a big mc donalds hamburger and drank a coke and mountain dew before I realized it! LOL

I woke up so aggervated at my weight still stuck at 164 i put something else on the scale to see if it was broke LOL

theni proceeded into the kitchen ( pretty upset) and fixed me a ham sandwich ( thats right i age white bread!!!!!!!!!!) did not taste as wonderful as i remember but to me it was like sticking my tongue out at the scale saying ok ur gonna move!

hope today is a better day than this morning was! try try again

You need to join the no weigh challenge. Sherry is running it in the Challenge forum. I highly recommend it.

It is a process and all days we do not lose. It is perfectly normal.
Think of all the good things you are doing. Eating right. Getting exercise. You heart and lungs will be stronger and you will develop muscle. It is a wonderful turn around. Celebrate it. Don't let the silly scale determine your life. Hide it away and only take it out once a week or every 14th days.
    Good luck. It will work.

      Hi John,
I would love to have you come join me and the other challengers at the Ongoing Scale Free Challenge. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...challenge.html .
You can set your goal days at whichever you choose. I suggest seven days.
Dr. Atkins suggest only weighing once a week. Reason being, our weight fluctuates on a day to day basis. Sometimes, hour by hour or even minute by minute.
There's alot going on within our bodies that influence weight fluctuation throughout the day. So it's best to stay off of the scale and not weigh every day. The scale is evil!!!!
Also, by staying off the scale, you're able to redirect your focus on your woe and exercise rather than the numbers on the scale.
Hope to see you at the challenge John.
      Sincerely, Sherri

Scales are EVIL! Seriously, do not let that mechanical device take over your life ... it will, you know. Put it in it's place and keep it there! It's just a tool ... don't let it rule

I know how you feel Jfarmer, that darn scale makes you want to jump off a cliff. It can lead you to eating white bread and snickers too. LOL.

I think i'm going to head over to that stay off the scale challenge board and see if I can stop myself from weighing everyday.

I personally am a scale lover. I don't think I would ever be able to join that challenge. I am obcessed. I know it isn't healthy. I need a 12 step program I am sure. But I didn't come and pop in on this thread to sound negative. Actually what I wanted to say was that measuring is a much better guide to how your doing with weight loss. You sometimes retain water, or gain some muscle while losing inches. It is the best guide to how you are doing, aside from how you feel physically! That is the abolute best guide.
