  • Same Weight for Day's....

So, I know I am not suppost to weigh daily, but hey, I do. Not seeing the scale move just makes me stay on the diet longer, and If I see the scale move then I am excited to stay on longer. So it's a win , win situation for me.
I am in Ketosis-(Large) Been for about a week. So, I have to be burning something, right?

I am on day 11 of induction, I've lost 7lbs which I am excited about. I have not cheated, nothing with sugar, I eat eggs and bacon or sausage for breakfast. Lunch is a hamburger on an oopsie roll, and a small ceasar salad. For dinner I have chicken breast and a side (2 cups) of broccoli with melted butter and light salt. Sometime a Tuna fish sandwich with mayo on an oopsie roll. I drink nothing but water, no soda, no flavored water. Nothing but good ole tap water all day.

The last 4 days I have weighed the same..180.6.. It's like my body knows i am trying to get out of the 180's an it just won't let go.

Anyone have any ideas of what I could do to get past this stump? I have no desire to get off of the diet. I am so use to eating this way. I have been having a blast finding new recipes and letting friends and family that need to lose weight, know the great recipes I have found on here.

    Any feed back is appreciated.

    Thanks
    Denise

I would say there is not much needs changing - though brocolli is on the 'other veg list' so should only be one cup in induction.

Dr Atkins didnt promise us that we would lose weight every day, even on induction so just keep on plan.

After your 14th day see how much in total you have lost in those 2 weeks and see from the chart in DANDR what sort of metabolic resistance to weightloss it shows.

Even if your 7 pounds is going to be that total initial weightloss you will have lost nearly a third of your total hoped-for loss which is amazing going

Have you started to read up on how to follow OWL yet? you look like you will need to move on in a few days!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

          Thanks for the replies, ladies!

          Thanks Liv, I updated it!

I am not discouraged, just wish there was something to do to make it into the 170's even if it's the 179.9.....lol.

I don't plan on changing to OWL...I am going to stay on induction.

Man I am in the exact same boat!! I am on day 9 of induction, and I've lost 7 lbs by day 5, and was SO excited...but then absolutely nothing since then. I am discouraged to say the least, but I am hoping my body will snap out of it. I might stay on induction longer...that's a-ok right?

              Re: Same Weight for Day's....

I have stayed below 20 carbs for 1 year before. Lost 60lbs after having all 4 o my kids..
Not sure how bad this is going to stall me, or if it does at all...but I felt alittle "backed up" so I had some sugar free mint paties. It sure did get things "running" in about 30 minutes. I have had those in the freezer for a month, was never going to eat them, but felted the need tonight.

So you are not going to follow the whole of Atkins, just the beginning phase

                    Re: Same Weight for Day's....

But remember that Dr Atkins hoped we would follow OWL and be at the premaintenance phase of Atkins by the time we had 5-10 pounds left to lose.

With 16 pounds left to lose that doesnt give you much time to conduct the OWL scientific experiment of seeing how adding carbs and different foods affects your body and discovering your CCLL.

I think you would find OWL easier if you do it when you still have a reasonable amount of weight to lose as when you are close to goal it is hard to tell if you are still losing while adding the rung foods.

I don't have the book yet, I went to the Library but the book I got there was from 1995. So When I read stuff on here saying it's explained on page 76 of the book, I don't ave any ieda what they are talking about.

I am not exaclly sure on how it's all suppost to work, before when I have done it, I just stay ender 20 carbs, the whole time. Thanks for the advice.

I see copies of DANDR in charity shops all the time for less than the equivalent of a US dollar. I think over there you call them 'thrift shops'.

Very true.. I paid a quarter for one. I also got one from a swap site for paperback books. (Not sure about posting the link, but it sure is a fun site!) If anyone wanted to find it, I am sure if they searched for a Paperback Swap site, they would find it!
