  • FluffyGirl is rocking Atkins

    Hey yall
Now you all know my goal is to fit into my size 14 jeans and have them fit loose, well I put them on today and they were tight but I didn't feel like I was going to pass out. I have a pair 'of riders which is the ones I tried on today, a pair of Levi's which I also was able to get on and a pair of Chic which are tight as all get up.

My goal is to have the Riders and Levi's fit me loosely by the end of the month and I am on my way to doing just that. My diet is clean and right on point.

I have a question however, is it ok for me to eat vegetables only from the higer carb count list as long as I stay within my 20 carb count? I am enjoying the way I am eating now and I don't want to be stuck to just eating salads.

Well done on your jeans starting to loosen up on you

To stay to the rules in DANDR you should only have one cup from the 'other veg' list on induction and get your other 2 cups from the 'salad veg' list. This doesnt mean you have to have a 'salad' though.

Many of the listed 2-cup veggies are great cooked. I often have red peppers or mushrooms or radishes sautééd with butter as a 'side'.

Or if I dont feel like cooking, red peppers stuffed with cream cheese or paté, or cucumber sticks spread with cream cheese or paté make a great snack. Or I use a large portabella mushroom as a pizza base or a burger bun.

To get more of the one-cup veg you need to move on to OWL after your first 14 days of induction when you can add 5 net carbs more of them.

Dr Atkins expected us to continue to eat our 3 cups of veg (2-3 of the 'salad veg' list and one from the 'other veg' list if we only have 2 of the first list) throughout our Atkins journey.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
