It comes in a variety of forms, capsules, powders, etc. I've never looked for it at Wal-Mart but it's probably in the pharmacy area with either diet or constipation products.

I use this one. I buy it at our local grocer's. I use a heaping tsp in water each morning when I take my vitamins and fish oil. You can get flavored varieties. This one taste rather like sawdust but it has no other ingredients--I figure it's worth it.

What about Metamucil tablets? Do those work and are they allowed?

I've never taken them but I'd think they would work just as well although they may not be as cost effective.

The ingredients in bulk Metamucil can include flavoring and sugar or artificial sweetener. If you are trying to avoid those, look at other brands that aren't flavored.

Thank you. My mom ended up buying the Safeway brand "Natural Vegetable Laxative" and "Stool Softener". The pharmacist recommended taking one of each once a day. I probably will only take them once every other day or so.

          Are these ok?
